The Hallmark Channel movie The More Love Grows is an inspirational tale. “A woman experiencing a setback in life learns that it may just be what she needs to propel her forward.” Here is more about this terrific movie.

According to the synopsis, Helen and her husband Paul are now empty nesters. They just dropped off their daughter Aly at her college dorm. However, Helen is blindsided by what Paul suggests they do now. He wants a separation. Helen does what she can to work it out with her, but he is already moving out of town with his job.

Love can surprise us in unexpected ways, as life’s twists and turns may bring us love when we least expect it. Finding our soulmate doesn’t always happen right away; sometimes, it takes a series of choices and experiences to finally meet the right person at the perfect time. The same thing happens with Helen and Ben in the film The More Love Grows, as both of them experience the collapse of their marriages, leaving them feeling lost and struggling to adjust to new routines. However, as they spend time together and share similar experiences, their connection grows stronger. Gradually, they discover a unique harmony between them, realizing that they are meant to be together.

We had the chance to chat with The More Love Grows director, Heather Hawthorn Doyle, who is currently filming another project for the network, and she shared her insights into bringing this emotional story to life.

The More Love Grows is delightful. What was your initial vision of the writer’s work?

Okay, you know, what I loved about reading this script? Is it hit on all three things that I look for, which is how's it gonna look visually? What kind of actors are we going to be able to put in these roles? And does it move me emotionally?...

This isn’t your typical Hallmark love story. In The More Love Grows (premiering August 18 at 9/8c on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries), Rachel Boston stars as Helen, whose husband Paul (Patrick Gilmore) unexpectedly tells her he wants a separation after they move their daughter Aly (Roan Curtis) into her college dorm. As Helen deals with that, a stray dog turns up on her doorstep, which leads her to veterinarian Ben (Warren Christie) … and possibly new love?
