Directed by David Gordon Green, Nutcrackers stars Ben Stiller and Linda Cardellini. Today, Hulu shared a Nutcrackers trailer to make your heart grow two sizes bigger.

Nutcrackers follows strait-laced and work-obsessed Mike (Stiller) as he is suddenly thrust into being a caregiver for his rambunctious, orphaned nephews. The foursome is more than Mike can handle while finding them a new home, and he’s quickly learning that if you can’t beat them, join them. As the group gets closer, Mike discovers a part of himself he’s never known, brought on by the daily chaos and shared sensation of grief.

As fantastical as the concept seems, the first body swap movie dates all the way back to 1916 with the British fantasy flick "Vice Versa," where a young schoolboy magically swaps bodies with his overbearing father. It's based on the even older 1882 novel of the same name and would mark the start of one of the most evergreen cinematic tropes that exists beyond the confines of genre. Body swap movies are most prominent in family-friendly comedy flicks like the "Freaky Friday" franchise or the criminally underrated "Wish Upon a Star" with Danielle Harris and a young Katherine Heigl, or even action films like John Woo's "Face/Off." According to Davey Cummings, a background artist on Mindy Kaling's animated Max original "Velma," the show will not return for a third season.

Over on Instagram, Cummings posted some of his work from the upcoming "Velma" Halloween special before revealing something huge. "Backgrounds I painted for Velma Halloween Special," he wrote alongside a carousel post of different spooky backdrops. "So fun working with this crew. There will not be a season 3, but I hope I get to work with these amazing talented people again one day.

The world of Star Trek is pretty varied. A wide array of shows, films, books, comics, and more tell a remarkable and compelling narrative. Not all of it is canon, but it offers something for everyone. So because of its depth and versatility, there are going to be Star Trek properties that are more for someone and less for someone else.

There are also going to be shows and films of better quality as well. No longer are ships being flung around an empty studio on a wire. Production values have gone up significantly. So much so that some of the past Star Trek properties seem downright trite in comparison, after all, watch an episode of The Original Serie and compare it to it's timeline-contemporary, Strange New Worlds.

While they're both state-of-the-art, of their time, they're nowhere near comparable. Despite that, the original series thrives still, 60 years later, because of the stories told.

The Hanna-Barbera cartoons I watched as a kid could be pretty hit-or-miss in terms of quality, both in storytelling and in art. And that includes some of the many entries in the Scooby-Doo franchise. But the first Scooby-Doo series — Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! — was one of the studio’s better efforts, especially when it came to delivering some spooky fun when I watched reruns of the show’s original two seasons after school in the ’70s. There was a Season 3 revival that came to ABC in Fall 1978 that I watched on Saturday mornings during the episodes’ original airings, and they were cool in their own way, but something then and now always drew me back more to the original Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! seasons, and particularly to the 17 episodes ...

Michael Keaton reprised his role as Batman in the Warner Bros. Discovery film Batgirl, which was shelved back in 2022. But in a new interview with GQ, Keaton seemed unbothered by the decision.

When asked if he was disappointed by Batgirl’s premature fate, Keaton told the magazine, “No, I didn’t care one way or another. Big, fun, nice check.” The interviewer notes that Keaton then “rubb[ed] his fingers together in the universal gesture for ‘moolah'” — which is fitting, considering the film cost around $90 million to make.

He did, however, swiftly mention that he’s rooting for the film’s directors, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, and feels bad that the plug was pulled on their vision. “I like those boys. They’re nice guys,” Keaton said. “I pull for them. I want them to succeed, and I think they felt very badly, and that made me feel bad.

“No, we keep talking about it,” Liman said when asked if “Edge of Tomorrow 2″ is dead. “We love that world.”

It seems every country needs a medical doctor-turned-comedian. The UK has Harry Hill, Monty Python’s Graham Chapman and the Goodies’ Graeme Garden. The US has Ken Jeong MD, who practiced as a physician of internal medicine in Los Angeles while trying to get his stand-up and improv career off the ground. (He maintains his medical licence and has assisted with medical emergencies since. He’s got some good stories on this!)

Jeong got his big break in Judd Apatow’s Knocked Up, and then went to on play a flamboyant gangster in The Hangover and two sequels. He’s since starred opposite Paul Rudd in Role Models, Brendan Fraser in Furry Vengeance and was in Crazy Rich Asians.

"Saturday Night Live" might be a late-night show in New York, but since it airs before 10 p.m. in some regions it has to abide by the FCC's quirky rules on "indecent and profane" content.  Swearing is a capital crime; in 1981, Charles Rocket was fired immediately after he accidentally dropped an F-bomb on air. Sex and nudity are also big danger zones; the 1988 sketch "Nude Beach" with Matthew Broderick, in which the word "penis" is uttered dozens of times, was permitted to air following a fierce debate within NBC's Broadcast Standard Department, and resulted in 46,000 complaints and the loss of multiple sponsors.

Fortunately for this "SNL" season 49 finale sketch, which stars guest host Jake Gyllenhaal as Fred in a twisted spin on "Scooby-Doo," violence on TV is basically a blood-soaked free-for-all with almost no limits.

There are a plenty of longtime Saturday Night cast members, yet there were no big exits — or hints of departures — on tonight’s Season 49 finale of the venerable NBC late-night program.

No SNL veterans were tearing up at the end of their sketches like Kate McKinnon did in the 2022 finale, it was all smiles and fist bumps at the curtain call, and, after another brutal joke swap, Colin Jost and Michael Che wrapped their 10th season together on Weekend Update by wishing everyone a great summer.

This was to be expected, given that no one from this year’s 17-strong troupe would willingly miss next year’s big celebrations – The Big 50.

Host Jake Gyllenhaal set the stage for what is to come in his opening monologue, noting that the finale was “the last episode before the big anniversary season.”

“And I would have gotten away with it too if it weren’t for you meddling kids.” This is undoubtedly one of the most famous lines in the history of animated television and practically everyone will recognize it as the most famous phrase from the Scooby-Doo series. The phrase usually signified the end of a case when Scooby and the gang would explain the solution and prove that the guy they caught in the costume red-handed did it. The villain would then utter these words, cursing his ill-fated encounter with Mystery Inc., without which his plan would have succeeded, as it was otherwise perfect.

While the Scooby-Doo series is primarily an animated work, there have been live-action and CGI adaptations of the series as well. And while the CGI Scoob! movie was better received than the live-action movies, no adaptation has managed to come even close to the charm of the original animated series,...

Scooby Doo and the Mystery Inc gang are heading back to the small screen in a live action series for Netflix, here are the details.

Jinkies: Netflix has ordered a live action Scooby Doo television series. No casting details have been confirmed, but we do know (thanks to a Deadline report) that it will be written by Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg – the same Scott Rosenberg who penned Con Air, one of the greatest action films of the 1990s.

This isn’t, of course, the first time Hanna Barbera’s cartoon has been reworked in live-action. Long before James Gunn took creative control of the DC Extended Universe, he was a prolific screenwriter, and arguably his most successful films, at the box office at least, were 2002’s Scooby Doo and 2004’s Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.

Mystery Inc. rides again! Variety is reporting that the long-running "Scooby-Doo" franchise may be making a leap back to the live-action world, this time courtesy of Netflix. Sources tell the outlet that, unlike past versions of the Hanna-Barbera-created franchise, the new series won't be a comedic mystery but a one-hour drama series. Warner Bros. Television, which has been responsible for other dark teen-centric Netflix shows like "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" and "Dead Boy Detectives," is set to produce.

The streaming giant is near a deal for a live-action TV series based on the beloved Hanna-Barbera animated cartoon Scooby-Doo. The project has a script-to-series commitment at Netflix, meaning if the script is well received, it would trigger a straight-to-series order for what is considered a live-action update of the classic cartoon.

Reps for Netflix, producers Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions declined to comment, as a deal has not yet formally closed.

Will Forte posted a note to the cast and crew of “Coyote vs. Acme,” four months after Warner Bros. shelved the Looney Tunes comedy after filming was completed.

Warner Bros. opted to take a $30 million tax write-off instead of releasing the film, then later announced it would let the filmmakers shop “Coyote vs. Acme” to other distributors. The film has not been sold.

“To the Cast and Crew of ‘Coyote vs. Acme’ — I know that a lot of you haven’t gotten a chance to see our movie. And sadly, it’s looking like you never will,” Forte wrote in a statement posted to X, formerly Twitter. “When I first heard that our movie was getting ‘deleted,’ I hadn’t seen it yet. So I was thinking what everyone else must have been thinking: this thing must be a hunk of junk. But then I saw it. And it’s incredible.

Those following the saga of Coyote vs. Acme waited with bated breath Friday for Warner Bros. Discovery’s earnings report to hint at any signs of the animated film’s fate.

The feature became the most talked about movie in town on Nov. 10, when The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Warners intended to scrap the movie. The outcry from filmmakers on social media was swift, and Warners soon reversed course, and decided to allow director Dave Green to shop the film to other buyers — something Green had been preparing to do when Warners surprised him by scrapping the film. Green ultimately showed the film to multiple buyers, with at least one bid coming in at around $40 million, according to one source.
