Good concept, writing and camera work. The host is perpetually unprepared, self-interested and culturally phobic, though. That was probably a choice of the producer/director, but was not my cup of tea for a show called Thirst. For example, she wasn't aware of the importance of guinea pigs or Lake Titikaka in Peru. Both of those would be on Page One of a briefing about Peru. Maybe the idea was to keep her in the dark about where she was going to visit, but that sounds like a questionable decision. A host with a touch of knowledge or empathy for the place they're visiting would be an improvement.
I was so excited when I read the summary for this show. It has not been done before and it is a great concept - drinking around the world and learning about the history of drinks. I even like the filming. BUTTTTTTTT the host. Oh my god, she is so cringe. She is outright rude to the indigenous people she is meeting. They are showing their culture and life and she gives them dirty looks, mocking and making rude comments. She needs to learn to suck it up and deal with it and get grossed out later. I never care about hosts. Replace the host and I'll keep watching. Or someone else will redo it way better.

I loved the show. I think it's really smart to use the BTS instead of studio b roll and it makes the locations feel alive. I follow Shay on social and this feels a good cross between the BTS you see on social and normal travelogue. I hope it gets picked up for a second season so I can see more of these things around other parts of the world and see Shay interact with other people and communities. I would highly recommend this show to anyone who is interested in drinking culture / the food space or anyone who just wants to watch a fun, entertaining show that will keep you wanting more each week!

Recommend! My husband and I are really enjoy going this show together! Gorgeous cinematography and travel experiences in off the beaten path locales. It's a light and playful tone that is about connecting human to human across cultures, and with a good social awareness as well. The show foregrounds real people who are proud of their culture and generous about sharing. The host, Shay Mitchell, is so charming and comes across with such humbleness and authenticity, and I like how they show the behind the scenes stuff and not only the glossy veneer of typical travel shows. Watching this show feels like going on vacation with Shay as a friend!

This travel and food show is incredibly enjoyable - it's a rare gem! I find myself wanting to rewatch every single episode. It's a whole new level of entertainment that bridges the gap between mindlessly scrolling through social media and watching traditional TV. It's like you're right there with the hosts, experiencing every adventure alongside them. I highly recommend watching this incredible show and joining Shay and her crew and guests on each thrilling journey! I can not wait for season 2 and hope there is one - feel good, aspirational, entertaining, educational, fun and beautiful. Must watch!
I don't knock many host on t.v show but let me tell you something about this lady, she is a terrible host for what this is. She absolutely is cringe in every single scene. Why does she look at the camera on every single scene? You can visibly tell how uncomfortable she is with nearly every drink or situation or food that is presented to her. I just don't understand how you can go into a show being so cringe. She may be super model beautiful but she lacks the ability to keep your attention for long stretches. I'm a pretty easy guy to keep entertained, especially when beautiful women come into play. I'm 23 minutes into episode 1, while a little buzzed and I want to turn it off. Crazy.

Another vapid show by a social media influencer wanna-be. Just because you are wealthy enough to have a camera crew follow you around while on vacation doesn't mean you should. This show tells nothing that hasn't been said before, and the "wardrobe change" in Episode 1 speaks louder than words. "OMG I need to change into a skirt! OMG I need to change into my birkenstocks!!! OMG my wardrobe person is so fantastic, she anticipates my every need. See, here is a box with 42 different kinds of sunglasses for me to wear!!!" Her "adventurous eating" consists of "OMG, I ate a single half-bite of guinea pig, LOL, I hope my daughters will see this one day!!!"
This show is the exemplification of dumbed down TV, and should be avoided if you have more than 2 brain cells to rub together.

Was curious about show when I heard about it! Love watching this type of show, Tucci, Bourdain, Zimmern etc. Shay is a jaunty host, seemingly up for anything! There are numerous traval shows that make food the center of attention and local culture. They may throw in a drink once in awhile, but a show focused on local drinks and local culture is definitely wanted and needed! The direct interaction with the camera makes Shay appear approachable and inviting! I would love to have a drink with her! I enjoy the spontaneous comments and her interactions with the local guides and her support crew! The voice over writing is superlative and keeps us engaged! Have watched the first two episodes a few times will watch the third, Argentina, tonight which I am sure will be as pleasurable as the Peru and Columbia episodes. Second season coming soon?!

Was this a show about Mormons drinking?
The show is like watching someone you do not know tell a story on an airplane about who made the back of the seat trying to put you too sleep with a monotone voice but rasping confidently about how great it is telling you they love the back of the seat but never tried to sit there until they are sitting there and they turn around and tell you about it again; whispering loudly making you want to look away feeling sad and tired as she stares nonstop into your eyes. You wake up to the most boring nightmare.
The show makes drinking sad.
Nobody gets introduced. They just show up then have to deal with a person who acts like they've never been on vacation before. She talks about them like they're a prop in a dollhouse. I don't know what happens at the end, but I'm guessing that's the point.
The writing in the host do not make me interested in these beautiful areas with things I've never seen. Makes me sad II'm sitting watching this.

As a travel, food, drink, and culture enthusiast I was interested in this show. I was unfamiliar with the host but grew to love her and found her very entertaining and relatable. For people that are leaving bad reviews, maybe this show just isn't for you. Shay is playful and interested in learning about other cultures. She provides a unique and entertaining perspective for a travel show. I appreciate the camera eye contact, as she is bringing her viewers in with her on her journey. I didn't feel in any way that she was mocking any culture. Just learning through experiencing it firsthand. I hope this show continues!

Host and show are both super engaging. They not only showcase some beautiful storytelling around local cultures and beverages but it also takes us a long for the ride - given you a little taste of the behind the scenes and the realness that goes into creating a show like this, the ups and downs of travel and tackling some fears 😂
Some people here don't realize what the show is trying to do and it shows...
Shay takes us on a journey through South America introduces us to some locals and celebrates the rich cultures through the beverages - made me want to visit these places myself - exactly what a travel show should do!
I love Shay and her show but I cannot stand how she acts she doesn't have to act like that 😂😂💀 like be normal like everyone else said she's cringe. Love the traveling the sites and drinks but wish we had another host for this show she did so much better in pretty little liars, I feel like this tv show is not for her lol so embarrassing. Like your your gorgeous abs you know that stop acting like a fool. This isn't a movie or a tv series it's just a show about drinks and traveling. And get your Spanish right your Filipina your supposed to speak Spanish. You mis pronounce Spanish words a lot 😂😂😂 take some Spanish lessons you don't sound good when you try to speak Spanish.
