I read a review that said "A Killer in the House" was horrible, and let me tell you, that was putting it way too mildly. I couldn't figure out if I was watching a snuff film, a cringey TikTok video, or some bizarre hybrid of the two. This is beyond B-movie territory-this is straight-up Z-grade, bottom-of-the-barrel cinema.
The plot (if you can even call it that) is a mess, the acting is laughably bad, and the directing is so amateurish it feels like a student film gone horribly wrong. The special effects look like they were done in someone's basement, and the editing? Let's just say it's as coherent as a fever dream after too many energy drinks.
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this movie even as a method of torture in a federal prison-no one deserves to suffer through this. It's almost impressive how "A Killer in the House" manages to be this terrible. I'm half convinced it was made as a dare or a social experiment to see how much bad filmmaking people can endure.
Please, for the love of all that is good, someone take this thing off the market. We've all got enough problems without this disaster floating around. Thanks.

"A Killer in the House" shows its quality upfront by its usage of an AI-generated movie poster, its unoriginal, boring and basic. In fact the movie is so bad, it feels like a money laundering scheme instead of a dedicated film.
This film alike to what the other reviews say, is laughably bad, bland writing and horrific pacing. The plot is all over the place and the acting is painful to watch, as the actors aimlessly repeat actions speak in deadpan flat tones and lack passion. The editing is janky and the special effects look like they had a budget of $5 dollars.
None of the actors are pushed to their limits or experiment or are willing to enhance their performances, the writing is messy and aimless, majority of this film just being filler. Do not watch this film, its poorly made and a waste of time. The film's resolve is also horrific, as there is no character development, substance or closure.

Needless to say that I had indeed never heard about this 2024 thriller titled "A Killer in the House" prior to sitting down and watching it. So I didn't really have any expectations to the movie, as I didn't know what I was in for aside from it being a thriller. But with it being a movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I found the time to sit down and check out what writer and director Jared Cohn had to offer.
The storyline, script and plot for "A Killer in the House" is rather simplistic and somewhat generic. But it still made for an adequately entertaining movie. Sure, you're not in for a grand cinematic experience here, but writer and director Jared Cohn managed to pull this off well enough.
The acting performances in the movie are good. The only actor I was familiar with on the cast list was Phillip Andre Botello.
Ultimately then I will say that "A Killer in the House" failed to stand out among so many other thrillers of the same type, though it still was a watchable and entertaining enough movie to sit through. Once watched, I doubt that this movie will ever pull back the audience for a second viewing, as there simply wasn't enough contents to the script to support more than a single viewing as it was a tad too predictable.
My rating of "A Killer in the House" lands on a four out of ten stars.

What the hell did I just watch? It was giving soft porn vibes and my gosh, the acting! My 3 year old is better at acting than everyone in this film combined. I can't believe this even made it on screen. I honestly thought this was a student film or I was being punked. There were several times I thought, "oh they're serious!" Please do the movie industry a favor and take this off. The title got me because I'm a sucker for Lifetime movies but this was not even close. I'm more upset that I saw it through but I'm not a quitter. So if you'd like to waste some time and be mad about it, go ahead and watch this.
