Early Bird is a very dark, 'worst-case scenario' comedy based around the concept of flat sharing. Everyone that has experienced this type of living arrangement has their own horror-stories and experiences, and our objective was to tap into these to highlight the absurdity of the entire scenario. You move into a house after meeting the current tenants during a twenty-minute interview, and then accept that you will be sharing your life and possessions with these people for an unspecified length of time. It's based in Tooting, London, which has a high percentage of people living in flat shares. Every scene is shot in either a Tooting-based flat or business, and we did this in order to create a real community feel for the film.

Worse case house sharing scenario, or is it?

Although the film takes the worse case scenario of house sharing to its darkest conclusion, it also dramatises the very real day to day clashes that happen all the time. <br/><br/>The character in the film is at even more of a disadvantage as he is the lodger of his &quot;flat mate&quot; who is in fact his landlord, meaning he must accept her nagging and bullying and proscriptive house rules, with no right of appeal to a higher authority or legal recourse, or move out, most likely becoming homeless.<br/><br/>While being a dark comedy, the film is also extremely watchable as a very realistic kitchen sink drama of manners between live in landlords and lodgers.

Take the concept of flat-sharing and imagine everything that could go wrong. This is the extreme. Well done and on a budget but not bad. Actually quite good. The word that comes to one&#39;s mind is raw. May make you feel uneasy but. Tone and pacing of film are perfect. All of you&#39;re expectations will be shattered in this haunting fever dream movie.
