Johnny Edgecombe: [Describing the shooting] It happened right here on December 14th, 1962, I had gotten ahold of one of those rental mini taxicab. The driver pulled up over there and waited for me. I got out and knocked on the door right here. After a minute, Mandy looked out the window from the second floor up there. So I says "Is Christine there?" Mandy says "no". I says, "Don't give me that bullshit. I just talked to her today over the phone just an hour ago." Eventually after another minute or two, Christine finally came to the window and she says "Johnny, what are you doing here? What do you want?" I says, "Come on down and talk to me. I mean, don't treat me like a goddamn salesman. After all, we've been having a thing." Christine says to go away. I says that Lucky Gordon is after me and I wanted her to run away with me. She told me she can't. Then she stuck her head back in the house and after another minute, she appeared again and threw to me a croumpled up one pound banknote out the window. She says "Here you are. Now go away!" Now that sort of flipped me out. And then I just pulled out the shooter and started shooting at the lock on the door like that. BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! Just like you see in the movies.
