Sonic Mania Adventures manages to tell a very fun yet simple story with no dialogue whatsoever. The animation is incredible and I can't believe that level of effort is going in to something that is free online. It's because of the animation that we are able to see Sonic and company emote in such a cute and funny way, and also allows them to tell a story without using dialogue which is quite impressive. If only all these triggered modern Sonic fans could realize this. Good job spamming IMDB with 1 star ratings and marking any positive review of this show as unhelpful. Seriously guys, go get laid.

This is a charmingly animated series of shorts that succeed in giving off the feel of Classic Sonic. While the story isn't the most creative part of the series, that wasn't necessarily the point. The animation, art style, and soundtrack are incredible for these shorts, and the character dynamics are incredibly easy to understand. This is fairly surprising considering THERE IS NO DIALOGUE! This show just oozes character and charm. The series isn't perfect however. They're a little too short, being 1-3 min. each. I'm always wanting more than what we get (which is good since the series isn't over yet.) Alongside this, the story goes rather slowly considering how small it is, but it can be dealt with thanks to every other good thing involved with the show, once again the art, animation, and soundtrack are outstanding!
(And regarding the raiders that are rating the show one star for no good reason, GROW UP! As a Modern Sonic fan myself, I'm embarrassed that these childish reviews are attempting to discredit all the pure passion that goes into this show. Of course I want more Modern Sonic products with better quality, but these reviews don't help. SHOW SOME MATURITY!)

While this cartoon has a story that is very understandable to everyone that don't know much about Sonic the Hedgehog and that the animation is appealing to look at, a lot of stuff here present is something that only a Sonic Fan, and those who play Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces, are going to understand. This is a Sonic Fan's cartoon and therefore they will reap the most reward from this. But even if this cartoon is mostly for Sonic Fans there is stuff that a Joe Shmoe can get. Again, the story is simple and compiled with the post credit scenes leaves the watcher wanting more which makes waiting for the next part all the more satisfying.
Also, an animator might like this as well with how detailed the animation is.

This series is comprised of five 3 minute episodes, closely based on the classic video games.
there is no voice acting, and the story is effectively told through movement, gestures, facial expressions, and music.
I feel that the first episode achieved the perfect tone for the series. it was reminiscent of Sonic's first cartoon outing; 'adventures of sonic the hedgehog'. his 'attitude' was fast, playful, and cheeky. while dr robotnik (or eggman as he's also known) was an intelligent villain, he wasn't to be taken too seriously. environments were colourful and the light plot didn't drag.
unfortunately as the series went on, it became violent - with too many characters added to keep track of. coincidentally, it mirrored exactly what happened to the game franchise after the original title.
if this series is to develop into anything bigger, I would suggest keeping things simple with a maximum of 3 characters (ideally sonic, tails, and robtnik), light with no fight scenes, fast, and most of all, fun! take cues from the first episode.

I'd hate to end up writing a book about how much I enjoy this mini-series, based on my favorite gaming franchise of all time, but how can I not? That being said, I'll try and keep it to a minimum ahah.
Words cannot, will not, and for sure just can't express how amazingly well done this mini-series is. The animation style captures each character's personality spot-on with no mistakes.
Take Knuckles and the Master Emerald for an example. If you're just getting into the series/franchise, and have no clue what the Master Emerald is, from just watching how Knuckles interacts with it, you can tell of how important it is to him, and that he wants to protect it at all cost.
The animation is very fluent and very smooth, not one thing about it stands out, it captures the characters classic representations very well. The music amazingly produced and up to par with everything that's happening in the animation it truly shows that a LOT of love was put into the development of this mini-series and is truly something that everyone can sit down and enjoy.
Thank you so much for giving us an amazing mini-series SEGA, it's truly the best thing I've seen in a very long while. And brings a smile to me every time I see it.

To keep this brief and prevent it from being a book instead of a review, I'll say these shorts are, in a word, magnificent. Without even utilizing voice lines or text bubbles, the creators are able to perfectly capture each of the character's personalities and, using classic Sonic music and sound effects make sure it has a true blue 'Sonic the Hedgehog' feel to it.
The characters are all expressive, vibrant and return to their more Classic representations, as opposed to the 'Sonic and his tag-a-long friends' vibe that comes off from some of the later Modern titles. Smooth animations with cartoonish fun, I think both young and old franchise fans can appreciate it.

This is an excellent charming cartoon full of life and color, with great animation along with it, contrasting the bland, lifeless, low budget animation of the current Sonic the Hedgehog series. It's known throughout the Sonic community at the moment that a bunch of butthurt children raided this page to drop negative reviews while skipping their English classes and dropping whatever negative words they know into a review, all because it isn't "Modern Sonic". Sonic is Sonic, and I urge people to review the show and give it the rating it deserves.

Sonic Mania is a silence cartoon that pleases many classic sonic fans! it has tyson hesse,s artstyle and Gags based around the games. altho, I dont feel like this cartoon is as great many people believe it to be personaly and here is why:
The when the cartoon tries to be funny, it either tries too hard or barely gets a smile on my face. Im personaly not that much of a fan of the tyson hesse's artstyle. and I personaly dont think showing me text and pictures isnt a smart way of telling a story without voiceacting.
then again.. even tho I dont like it that much, I still would suggest to check it out! its a free short sonic animation and wont cost you more then 2-4 minutes. who knows? you might like it yourself!

Sonic Mania Adventures is, like the game it's promoting, a love letter from the fans to the fans of Sonic the Hedgehog. It perfectly captures the fun and the antics of all the characters interacting, all without having the need of proper voice acting. The animation is clean and bouncy, and the characters are the most expressive we've ever seen in ANY form of media. I can't wait to see what comes next.

That you create hundreds of IMDB accounts, write reviews for all of them with the exact same criticisms, and make all the accounts agree with each other. All of this to make a cartoon you don't like look bad. It's hilarious, but also kinda sad.
As for Sonic Mania Adventures, it's pretty alright.

This show was unexpectedly fantastic, sure there's no voice acting, but these are just shorts. They're very good quality, and gives us some insight into the characters we love.

This little mini-series is from what I can tell meant to feel like the classic games, only in a cartoon, of course. And the way it's pulled off works really well. The art style is great and the soundtrack works really well. This cartoon is full of charm and I definitely recommend it to Classic Sonic Fans.

While i do enjoy shows like Sonic SatAM, Sonic X and the OVA, i do believe this is the closest to nail the spirit of these characters and the world they inhabit!
Lots of heart and soul was put into these shorts and it shows! Tyson Hesse and his team have written and animated these characters in the way we imagined them, at least for their Classic counterparts!
It mixes the fun lighthearted tone of the Classic continuity with the action that we come to expect from our favorite blue hedgehog making for a great watch and a true treat for any fan of the franchise.
I might be more of a fan of the Modern continuity, but i still adore the Classic continuity and i love the portrayal of these characters and the look and feel of the world in this show and i hope Tyson and his team can come back to produce more shorts or even a full show in the future!
Sonic Mania Adventures is truly a project filled with love for this franchise and something the fans can enjoy for years to come!

The animation is expressive and fluid, the characters are adorable, the jokes are entertaining and the whole thing is just really fun to watch. I look forward to the next episode coming out each month, it's really a highlight to me.
Also, a lot of those negative reviews read like they're written by the same person. So keep that in mind.

For real, This Cartoon just looks and feels great and is a great adaption of the classic Sonic charactrers and doesit's job wonderfuly , as someone who grow up loving the Sonic CD animation and art style which I know a lot of people love as well, this is a dream come true, the characters all looks so expresive and look very faithful to their game counter part. and it's also probably why I call it the dream cartoon, because if you are a big fan of the Classic Sonic games and always wanted to see it and it's world and characters in to a cartoon as I have this is probably the best we can get to having that.
I love how the show focuses mostly on character expresions rather then dialouge to get the plot across rather then dialouge as actions usualy speak louder then words and can make some cooler looking scenes and shots. and the characters feel very well represented from Sonic's energetic cocky atitude to Tails admiration of Sonic but yet still being brave and helpful to Knuckles's obsesion of protecting the master emeralds and presentation of physical power. and even Eggman's child like personality even for a ginius sientist. also this is one thing that usually comes unoticed I love how each character has it's own level bouncines that corelates to the character's traits. such as Sonic being very bouncy in his movements while knuckles looking more stiff. and yes this cartoons are very shorts but they are packed with enough Action, Expresion, characters and just a joy to watch. every second has something special to it weather it's a reaction or even a funny smear frame.
So yeah, I would highly recomand this , not jsut as Sonic fan but to anyone who likes cartoons and animation in general.

This short, but oh-so-sweet miniseries is a love letter to both fans of animation and fans of the blue hedgehog himself.
Sonic Mania Adventures is a showcase of expressive and inspired 2D Animation. There is so much life and character depicted in the visuals alone, and the story's events progress naturally despite the lack of dialogue. The songs and sounds accenting the shorts work in tandem with the superb character animation to portray a simple, yet delightful story. Each character's movements and quirks are unique, and very telling of their personalities and motivations. There are plenty of humorous moments and nods to the games to top it all off, and they truly help in bringing this little masterpiece to life.
The first episode took us by storm, and it has been spectacular for its whole run. I urge any fan of animation and storytelling to check this out.
The naysayers really need to can it. They don't seem to know what quality looks like and can't handle the prospect of an animated Classic Sonic series. Is it because it doesn't have a wiseass Modern Sonic cracking jokes every six seconds? Don't get me wrong, I like Modern Sonic a lot but I like Classic Sonic too. Sonic Mania Adventures is a great series.
The animation is very fluent and vibrant. The characters are full of life and personality and I love Tyson Hesse's art style. The lack of proper voices clears out room for plenty of physical comedy. It almost reminds me of Looney Tunes. Not as crazy, mind you. Speaking of which, this series is funny. Had me laughing several times. Good humor is a way to make characters likeable, and they are in this series. The music by Tee Lopes is wonderful. I haven't played Mania yet (as of this review) but I can't wait to hear his compositions in the game when Mania Plus comes out. I have already heard some Mania tracks, and they are great. Can't wait to hear the rest.
SMA is a perfect series for the classic blue blur. The kids raging about this show need to ZIP IT! The adults are talking. Go watch your Sonic Boom crap.
Also, there's been a common criticism from the haters how this show doesn't have a "message" or "moral". Not EVERYTHING needs to teach a lesson. It's strictly meant to be pure, ludicrous fun and adrenaline. Not a damn educational program. It's NOT Dora, it's not Caillou, it's not Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It's SONIC THE HEDGEHOG, the fastest thing alive. Just sit down, shut up and enjoy it. I normally don't like giving the highest rating to something, but I think this series truly deserves a 10.
