Fantastic
I love the concept of this series. It is like a Christian / biker version of the old Kung Fu episodes. A man of few, but strong words goes around making a difference in the lives of everyday people. Each show is a new family or set of people. I like that he asks if they know Jesus. He is also just learning how to be Christian. He is humble. It is not preachy or full of doctrine - just basic good Christian themes. The writing and acting are great. You can tell it is made with a lower budget, but it is very well done. I like the Texas setting - still the wild west. I hope they do another season! We need more shows like this.

First to review?
Last to review, hopefully. Please avoid. Stay away from it. Run, if you are able. Or get on your motorcycle and ride away. I thought at first that it would be a remake of the Walker Texas Ranger spinoff, but nope. Clearly trying to rip Sons of Anarchy and the Mayans off, with predictable results.
Who knew there was a b-TV series market?

A Decent Series
I began to watch this series because I wanted something that combined my love for motorcycles and Jesus. This fits the bill just fine. The acting and writing are "ok." It's not at the level of a high dollar series produced by Hollywood...but, the content more than makes up for it. It's an enjoyable, thought provoking look at how someone comes to faith after being far from God for a long time.
Way better than I expected. Actually very good.
I'm pretty surprised by Sons of Thunder. I always loved shows that were about a humble hero traveling through the west, each week a different story. The Christian version of this is great! The casting of the main character was a very unique choice that paid off bigtime. The budget isn't that high, but man do they do a lot with a little! It's actually a lot more impressive than some big-budget show with mediocre writing. The writing in this is deep, the drama can be downright intense, and nothing is too over-the-top. The series gets better and better the further you go. If you're sick and tired of the increasingly violent and depraved shows on TV, this will satisfy your itch for good writing, drama and action without trying to shove a political or cultural agenda down your throat or make you cringe for no real reason. Good Biblical values expressed, without being denominational or overly preachy. Strong recommend.
