LV-426 is a nod to James Cameron's Aliens (1986), where it is the name of the planetoid where the titular creatures are found. Although the planetoid and creature had already been seen in Ridley Scott's Alien (1979), the planetoid wasn't designated as LV-426 until Aliens.
