The pure entertainment and 80:s nostalgia would easily give this movie a 10/10. But since the storyline, the scenarios, and lots of the lines and punch lines are so terribly cringe the movie itself would be a 5/10. Especially the scene where the gangster boss's trophy wife dances on stage made me turn in embarrassment but every actor is like a cliché of themselves.
Still, both Patrick Swayse and Sam Elliot do the best of what they got to work with and Kevin Thighe does a wonderful character of the bar owner of Double Deuce. So all things put together landed in a 7/10.
This film has been on my bucket list since it came, being a fan of both Elliot and Swayze, and I don't know why it took me 35 years. But now I can tick that box.

Never in a million years would I have believed that a drama series about greasers would touch my heart on such a level. I was never interested in their music or cars. But the depiction of heartbreak, friendship, parental abandonment and mental health made my tear channels flood. The series is totally addictive and I lost some sleep binge watching it.
It's been so many years since I've was in the same age as the main characters, but some things never get old and nostalgia always plays some heart strings.
The acting feels very true, not mannered, and for that I take a bow, cause that is always the hardest part, and has destroyed many movies about youth.

I'm not a fan of musicals, but this one hit the right spot!
The loveable crocodile Lyle danced and sang it's way into our heart, and me and my 6 year old gladly sang along at the theatre!
The animation of Lyle is perfectly done, and the story has been placed in a modern narrative, without losing the charm of it.
We had some good laughs, and I heard the little ones all over the theatre being truly annoyed by the evil neighbour and engaged in the story of Lyle, Hector and Josh.
This is a story that the youngest ones can enjoy as well as their parents, and I bet that any fan of musicals will be evenly pleased.
