"Medan Staden Sover" aka "While The City Sleeps" (1950) does not have a very compelling story, and the direction does not offer much that's really special, either. What makes it somewhat interesting is that it's probably one of the earliest serious-minded "juvenile delinquency" films made in any country (although most of the actors look a little overage for their roles). The opening credits claim that it is based on an idea by no less than Ingmar Bergman, though you probably won't find many traces of him in the finished film; Inga Landgré, who did star in Bergman's first film "Crisis" (1946), is largely wasted in a thankless role. ** out of 4.
