Mr. Deity (2006)
Brilliant!!!
A former Mormon, Mr.Deity started this skit show on youtube to entertain the quandaries of a "God's" reasoning for his decision, if he was a bit of a business man with an assistant. In this case, Mr.Deity is not glorified but bit made fun of for his cruel logic and a splash of stupidity.
Lucy, also known as Lucifer is his smarter and better half
as well as his on and off going girlfriend. I've been watching this when there were only 7 episodes, and I must say that the quality of content has gone down since the initial episodes, but the concept and execution is still solid.
The production of this web series is actually quite high, almost of that of a SNL digital short. The acting as well as the writing are thought-out and witty.
This show definitely does not defend or defy the teaching of God. It's mostly just a verbal satire based on the musings of faith and God.
Party Down (2009)

Is it just me or is everyone from Veronica Mars recycled through this show?
It's not a show that I set aside time to watch. You miss a few episodes and not missed much. However, the show does sit in its awkward moments delivered by one-dimensional but good characters.
It's a bit slow for me, but The Office and Arrested Development crowd would eat this up.
There are some great female comedians in this show though. But I hate the love interests and the main characters even though they are suppose to be neutral.
I see why it was canceled. Sorry.
The Mentalist (2008)
Watch it for the characters
The show takes place in Sacramento, California and follows Patrick Jane, a former "psychic", who is an consultant for CBI, a bureau focuses on crimes in California. Jane joins them to solve crimes based on his observations and his smart guesses while pushing the bureau's ethical boundaries. Jane's main motivation is to catch Red John, who murdered his wife and daughter.
Review after Season 2: Like Fox's show Bones and House, one only watches the show for the love of the character, not love of the plot. The major life changing drama only happens in the last 2-3 episodes of the season and the crimes are not that interesting neither is the banter. However, the relationship between the key characters are quite solid and charming. The plot of this show is very similar to USA's Psych, however, the crimes in The Mentalist actually makes sense but with less humor. It's easy to miss a few episodes and not care.
But you come back to visit your friends for their personality not their story. *Side note. I LOVE SIMON BAKER (Patrick Jane)
His not very popular but good comedy is Sex and Death 101 with Naomi Watts. He just has so much charm and charisma. It kills. Also he's from Australia
the real life accent is a plus.
True Blood (2008)
Addicting
Taking place in Louisiana, Sookie Stackhouse, our main character, has the ability to read minds
something she considers somewhat of an unexplainable curse. But upon meeting her first vampire, Bill Compton, she discovers she can't read vampire minds. Lots of supernatural drama ensues in this new world where Vampires expose themselves the new world behind the unveiling of True Blood, a synthetic blood product made by the Japanese. As the show goes on, we are introduced to other characters.
Review after Season 3: YUCK. It's better than Season 2 but it was meh
True Blood always starts out slow and boring (despite its unlimited source of content). Tara is still a bitch: However, James Frain's performance as her abusive boyfriend Franklin Mot was great. YES, YES Battered women are not a source of entertaining contention, but James Frain is just great and entertaining AND FUN. So with spit.
Book Series: I have read 9 out of the 10 books that True Blood is based on, and I must say they are addicting. The plots change in comparison to the show but is promising series. They are simple to read and a bit trashy, but addicting as hell. The book is written in first person. So we do not know what's happening other than in Sookie's eyes. Therefore, Sookie's actions are justified in the book and I like her a bit more. Also, Tara barely exists in the book.
Review during Season 2 (already finishing Season 1): A bit of a slow show, watch the first season please! I regret dropping the show after watching just 2 episodes. I abhor the main character Sookie, her brother, and her best friend, and the bartender for the first two episodes.. maybe I was just in bitchy mood. Alright, so that's the majority of the main characters, vampires aside. However, after watching the first season and now currently the second season, I'm hooked. I love vampires, reading, watching movies and television show, they are my unnatural fictional addiction.
Sookie is still a self-righteous, mind-reading bitch is annoyingly innocent with luscious blond hair. While Bill, the vampire, is a southern gentleman. The show takes place in the heart of the Cajun south: Louisiana, when humans are aware of vampire's existence and deals out discrimination. Vampires thrive on True Blood, bottled blood while some humans are addicted to the drug-like effects of a vampire's blood also known as V. The show stays true to the vampires, not trivializing them with garlic or mirror tricks, but still making them vulnerable to sunlight and mind control (glamor) as well as super strength and speed. Some are inhuman while, Bill is closer to his human nature while fearing his vampire side.
I don't think I'll ever like Sookie. But it's a good realistic drama with vampires. That's right people realistic, with drama. Unlike Buffy and Angel, these vampires are more serious and dangerous and there is an actual plot: granted a centering mystery per season (similar to that of Dexter). There is one major problem for each character during the season, but unlike Dexter, each character from True Blood has an interesting story. True Blood is a must watch for fans of the supernatural and good old HBO drama.
Community (2009)
It can only get better.
The story centers around a Spanish study group at a community comedy, the group is made up a variety of people who go to community college: recent high school graduates, elderly looking seeking company, single mother, a former peace core activist, and lastly Jeff Winger
a lawyer with an unofficial degree. Lot of heart warming lessons with humor goes throughout the series.
Review after finishing Season 1: Funny and loving, I watch it for the humor and for the love in the the character's relationships. It may not be everyone's type of humor, but it is general enough to be brilliant and not to obscure. Not only that the humor is unique but not weird. It reminds me of Scrubs with a new type of humor.
I say it's a much watch comedy.
Season 2: IT just gets better and better!
Nurse Jackie (2009)
Great Season 1..but season 2 not as great.
An addict to her job and painkillers, Jackie Peyton (Edie Falco) is an emergency room nurse at All Saints' Hospital in New York City. Despite her personal indiscretions, she handles doctors, nurses, and patients with stable grace. Nurse, addict, mother, wife, we wait and watch as Jackie's secrets unravels before our eyes.
Review during Season 2: Needless to say, all the characters in Nurse Jackie are lovable. They deliver funny lines but play mostly as Jackie's confidant. Sadly enough, besides Jackie and her best friend, Doctor O'Hara, we only have a glimpse to the other character's history. Hopefully as season two progresses, the other characters will develop some drama of their own. I am just too greedy. After all, the name of the show is Nurse Jackie.
*Vanity note: As much as I love Edie Falco, she looks very butch in her short hair cut. In season two, she looking more Ellen with her tan and highlights. Just when I lose a bit of hope, she surprises me with her rocking body: modest boobs but tight figure. Doctor O'Hara is my professional dress fashion icon.

Looking at the posters scampered around the Internet and the city, Nurse Jackie (Edie Falco) looks like a butch and bitter nurse, but something about the poster is intellectually seductive and I was hooked from the start! Overworked and secretive,Nurse Jackie hands out her own view of justice, while crossing major ethical boundaries. Adultery, drug addictions, and well written adult comedy is what you would find with this gem of a show. Another Showtime success! Just think of her as the female dramatized version of Dr. Perry Ulysses Cox of Scrubs: a veteran of the medical field still caring and mentoring with a pills to keep her going.
The plot carries from episode to episode with excellent writing, character development, and acting
award winning acting that is. Nurse Jackie encompass interest without unthinkable scenarios of inter-sex orgy found Grey's Anatomy, the chronically irrelevant plot of Scrubs, and
yes
another inter-sex orgy, soap opera of developing douche bags on Nip/Tuck (a show I loved once
for season 1 & 2 only, after season 2 it was a gang bang of drama, not the pleasant jerk off gang-bang to but dark and deary back alley possible STD infected ones).
My favorite character thus far is Eve Best's Dr. O'Hara, Jackie's best friend. She's is spoiled with taste and money, but upfront, funny, and astoundingly sincere. She's very similar to Sandra Oh on Grey's Anatomy, but better dressed and not so cold and contest driven. O'Hare is a doctor that I would want and a friend any girl (such as myself) would love to have.
Each episode starts and ends with character narration (also found the Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives,Scrubs just to mention a few). Instead of the pure heartfelt conclusion with a character pan tying each character to an metaphoric observation, Nurse Jackie displays brutally beautiful truth of herself (most of which is peppered with a realistic view of herself). So far each character is intriguing and unique
. not to say that I have yet to be introduced to a straight male nurse
but fingers crossed!
Wonderfalls (2004)
Canceled fore it's time
A show canceled before it's time. Only one season and 13 episodes, FOX did another great up job of canceling yet another descent and unique show (Prematurely canceled FOX shows: Firefly, Undeclared, Arrested Development, Family Guy, etc). Wonderfalls is a story of an ivy league educated girl named Jaye working at shop at Niagara Falls, and one day toys with heads start talking to her in blatant demands and one subtle hints. Her comments, attitude, and overall demeanor are comparable to Daria, Veronica Mars, Juno: the basic modern sarcastic, yet caring girls. It's a story of magical sequence of consequences, similar to that of Pushing Daises but without the brilliant artfulness of costumes or colorful stories
both do have Lee Pace, sigh.
Review after finishing the series: Wonderfalls is unique but not inspiring, the people Jaye (main character) ends up helping in each episode are annoyingly creepy and general jerks. It doesn't have the helping feel of Leverage or the The Pretender, since it is a comedic show. But if the universe of talking animal heads are giving you hints, at least help those that really need it. After a few episodes I got annoyed at the simple outline of her misreading the hints that the universe give her. But quite honestly, Leverage and The Pretender
alright most shows have a basic outline. It also doesn't help that I watch shows back to back to back
until I finish the series or at least one season.
Despite that little disgruntle with the show, Wonderfalls is a touching comedy of a sarcastic no care, uninspired, family avoiding girl who slowly learns humanity: the value of family and friendship with each adventure of helping people. Overall it's a funny and charming show, that should not of been canceled.
Secret Diary of a Call Girl (2007)
Sex Sells
Hannah, also known as Belle, is a smart British call-girl who exposes the secret of her career while trying to maintain her life-style and lack of personal relationships.
Review after watching Season 2 & 3: The great thing about this show is that it tries to be a first person narrative by having Hannah break the 4th wall, by speaking to the viewers. A high-class call-girl, Hannah also appears all natural (lack of plastic surgery not abundance of body hair) which makes her appear more normal and likable. She's not a call- girl because of any psychological issues just for the good pay for the little hours, therefore making this show an opportunity for a normal college graduate to love sex, love her job with no shame. Her ex- boyfriend, current best-friend, Ben is the only one outside the business that knows of her ventures.
The sad thing about this show (as I find true of most British shows) is that it's episode to episode. I can watch this show with no urge to find out what happens next episode. This is especially true for the first two seasons, but the third season is an improvement. But still, there is no strong pull. Only sex. Surprisingly the sex is not too soft porn like (unlike The Tutors). It focuses more on the specific tastes and desires of people, from the kinky to the normal.
Hannah, unlike her call-girl counterpart Belle, is less interesting. For the first two seasons she develops zero to no personal relationships. And when she does, she's far from sincere.
Not much for character development, this show is like watching Sex in the Citywithout the drama or connection to the character. But hats off to you Billie Piper, you'd make one hot call-girl.
Review: after watching Season 1 Billie Piper's character Hannah, also known as Belle, is charming and seductive with her British accent. The video is not the caliber of HBO or Showtime shows, but is engorged with tasteless sex. No character developments or a care in the world.
Although, Belle is extremely attractive at certain angles in certain outfits and makeup, at other angles she looks like a porn star. Although, her parts look real, they looks artificially exaggerated in certain outfits. I watched the first season, and have no interest pursuing the second season unless I'm in the mood to see a selfish, yet charming, self labeled "whore" narrate the rules of being a call girl.
Like Sex in the City or
wait
Sex in the City, each show is a series of an overall lesson while breaking the fourth wall. UNLIKE Sex in the City , I do not care for the plot or any of the characters. It's neither pretty nor sophisticated. Hannah is selfish and fails at being vulnerable. Only with ironic laughs and clever "rules of a good call girl" scenes, Secret Diary of a Call Girl is a remote clicker: nice to land on while channel surfing
not something to put on a viewing calendar.
What I Like About You (2002)
Insincere bloaty face.
A younger sister moves in with her controlling but cute older sister New York City. They learn to love each other and become friends while adjusting to their new life with each other. Lots of love plots and comedy ensues.
Review: I must admit I am rather biased. I hate Amanda Bynes. But I like Jennie Garth
but I hate the character Garth plays on the show. Why do I hate Amanda Bynes? Well, in all honestly its mostly her character Holly
her selfish, humorless, and slutty character. Due to my dinner time and my roommate's dislike for serious TV dramas
I was stuck watching this. Normally I do not crap over things I have not seen or read. However, I have seen all 4 seasons. It's not that her character cheats, lies, or is annoying, it's just how she does it ( I know that is such a 'girl' comment). Holly so insincere. Urg. I just wanted to see Holly suffer, which never happened.
*Vanity note: Plus towards the end of the series Amanda Bynes got all bloat-y faced but skinnier which was weird to look at, which made it even more annoying. I just watch her screeching bobble head wobble in the pain of the show's lack of original or classic humor.
Not that bulimia is a joke, it's not necessary in her case or any others
it's just ugly.
Melissa & Joey (2010)
I don't hate it.
I don't hate it. Oh, my god, I don't hate it. Also, Joey's looks like it is drawn to perfection (a little too much perfection).
The writing isn't very convincing, the characters are not super developed. But I love Joey's character and 50% of Melissa's character but even with all of that, I can't say that I was very disappointed with it. But since I watched it on Hulu thinking that it was a canceled show at first, I cannot say that I gave it much credit in the first place.
The plot from episode to episodes varies more than enough, but the plots are far from strong. They are rather weak. But then I have to remind myself that this show is on ABC family, so I shouldn't have the same expectations of it as I would a show that was on ABC.
So overall, I'm glad to see Melissa is back!
Undeclared (2001)
Watch it I BEG YOU
Judd Apatow's second try after the canceled Freaks & Geeks ABC and FOX are such fools. Utter stupidity. Undeclared was a show too early for its time. The show festers to the current generation of Knocked Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Superbad, Funny People and etc. In fact this show is better than all those movies.
Undeclared has the following now famous stars: Jason Segel, Jay Baruchel, Seth Rogen, Amy Poehler

This is the best comedy about the new-age college kids, filled with comedic drama and just a great overview on college life. Cancelled after 1 season. WHY FOX?!?!? Why this atrocious act of killing pure genius.
Watch it! I BEG YOU! WATCH IT. It's the time capsule of early 2000′s and is not only a great comedy but has developing plot and characters.
Kings (2009)
Would have worked on HBO or Showtime
Overview: A parallel to the biblical story David and Goliath, this powerful cast highlights the political drama in this modern monarchy. There is only one season, but lots of drama involving the king and his family and of course David, an awarded soldier slowly rising to higher power.
Review after finishing series: The main reason I dislike this show was that it's pace was too slow, but the show had quite a high production value. The actors and costumes were top notch. The build up is slow and I had no reason to come back. However, if you are into political dramas with little heart this is one season you can blow your time on.
Cougar Town (2009)
Has some good concepts
This show is essentially if Courtney's character from Friends, Monica, got divorced from Chandler around her 40s. She's the same character, who we love from friends, surrounded by a cast I actually like
but only because they were on shows I liked (Scrubs, Freaks & Geeks, etc).
Once again Cox pushes the creepy, but cute because she's pretty and hot card. However, with that out from my chest, I think I would have initially liked it more if, ABC did a better job with advertising the show as not her being old
or a cougar. Perhaps something more subtle like Old Christine. Just because an actress is older than her TV prime does not mean that has to be the pull of the show. Courtney is still hot (and looks like Nelly Furtado). Also the show has some heart. It's light and carefree, with promise of staying on air. Update
Star Trek (2009)
Pure entertainment.
Before the Movie:
Star Trek
The trailer looks EPIC. And I'm just in a mood for a awesome, action packed film for the summer. Granted it does stray from the original series with more action, drama, testosterone engorged action film. I watched Star Trek. As a child of 4-6 basic channels (varied based on the weather or the day) Star Trek was my savorier, when elmo and LeVar Burton from reading rainbow left for the weekend, I was left with Star Trek in my dead zone, my time of need. As a 7 year old I logically deducted that LeVar was my transition from PBS to any random channel that hosted Star Trek: the Next Generation. Geordi La Forge: my favorite character, besides Data (too obvious).
This film centers around the Kirk and Spock from the original series (which I didn't really care for). But action, intense glares, and swift moves this is my type of film.
Review: I saw it once with my friend, brother and boyfriend and watched it a second time in the theater with my dad. What can I say? It was AWESOME. Action, humor, drama
and most importantly: charm. All I look for in movies are entertainment and heart. I was a bit apprehensive about the film (due to the Trekkieness) however, it was made into an outstanding major blockbuster, giving everyone a chance to find out for themselves the brilliance of Star Trek.
One quip I have about the movie was the bad guy, he was not really scary
he reminded me of a tatted up gangster off of The Shield, who was victim of genocide after day labor. Wow, that was a total non-PC comment. However, it was my first assessment of the situation.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
Obligation sucks.
Before the movie: There is an obligation with Harry Potter. Not as much initial excitement as before , but some strange moral obligation to go to the theater and commit. I'll go to the theater, but unlike the last 5 movies, perhaps I won't go to the midnight showing. But then I'll be haunted with a new pile of regrets: not having seen the second movie until the DVD came out and not having seen the third film until the DVD. But I came back at four! But was only left with disappointment with the fifth. Ironically, I've been to every midnight showing of Pirates (Trilogy?)
and I did not like the first one.
They have waited too long to let this movie come out. Damn you! My love for Harry Potter film series have morphed from cocaine to low grade crack, the addition is still there. Let's just hope this was better than Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix. -----
Review: Meh, it was a dragging my feet through the sand
I knew the day at the beach would be fun at first, but all I ended up doing was cleaning the sand off my feet and picking at my salted skin. I read all the books, I know what happens
I guess I just lost the heart for this. It was very boring watch and it did not have the heart it did when it began. I only give it higher marks only for sentiment
like a bump you would give a relative, just because they grew up with you. Blah.
Mary and Max. (2009)
Watch this. Please?
It reminds of of The Royal Tenenbaums but in clay-mation. The movie more Chicken Run and Wallace and Gromit than Corpse Bride. It's an Australia made film, so dark and quirky that I love it.
Although it is not for kids its storyline and etc are so well written and put together. Deep and provocative. YEAH, I went there. If you love Wes Anderson and or Tim Burton all washed up in the mysteries of being a child, you will truly enjoy this film.
It has the character narration like in Amelie and such a lovely story flowered with wonderful music.

Calendar Girls (2003)
Don't take it so seriously and learn to have fun.
This light hearted film with the fun that you'd expect from a group of English gals bored out of their wits. The story starts in a rural town in England at a women's club.
Then to raise money after one of their husband died, the two black sheeps of the group decided to do tasteful nudes calendar. The the rest escalates from here.
There are only a few things that bother me about this movie. First of all, Helen Mirren's character seems a bit too old to have a son that is 14 years old. There seems to be some unresolved plot lines as well. That is not based on the character not Helen Mirren herself. The storyline is not 100%, however, it's a fun watch about house wives having fun. It's tries to have some depth, but just ends up being cutesy instead.
Don't take it so seriously and learn to have fun.
Secretary (2002)
Lovely Taboo
A untraditional love story, Secretary is a dirty premise infused with a love story. The two meet under unconditional circumstances and then after a few flirtations they escalate. But then one changes their mind due to some self conscious conflict.
And then the other proves their love through some great move. However, the build up and the images are quite well put together and somewhat sweet.
I never thought Maggie was particularly hot, but after this movie
my feelings have changed quite a bit. She's one hot seductive lady. I like her subtle moves as well as her reactions.
This is a very different type of movie and it is not for everyone, but it is a new twist on a traditional story. Although it is very sexual, it does a surprisingly good job at portraying the character's feelings through their grotesque/erotic acts.
Swimming with Sharks (1994)
Dark and fun
This comedy is similar to that of American Psycho and its just dark and fun. Kevin Spacey does an fantastic job as the an evil boss. However, there is no connection to his character, not as much as you'd hope you would get. I like the idea as well as the unique outlook and plot, however, I would say that it didn't feel complete
However, I was still surprised and intrigued by the beginning ending

Män som hatar kvinnor (2009)
Outstanding
It seemed to go on forever
but I wanted it to. I found the plot and mystery particular and new, and more than anything realistic in its story telling. I like the main female character for her silent thinking women scenes. I heard something on NPR that compared her to Bella from Twilight, and it is simply not true. Lisbeth is a new breed of female characters, she stands her ground silently and although is victimized she still has the will to fight back without feeling sorry for herself.
The actress does an excellent job in transforming into this cold character, but she still maintains the intrigue into the character.
Even with that in mind the characters are hard to connect to and even harder to completely understand, for these are not your typical heroes or heroins, rather they are just brilliant people who live in the situation of circumstances.
Overall this film is a good reflection on the popularity of the book series (something I brought and will be reading soon).
Six Degrees of Separation (1993)
New Respect for Will Smith
I have gained new respect for Will Smith, as an actor, after this movie. Not that I didn't have much before
As much as I adore his personality among other talents, I really didn't expect him to pull off this role with such ease. Considering the difficulty.
Paul is one of our main characters, who suddenly appears at a rich couple's home (who are art dealers). He's stabbed after a mugging and dressed in fine clothing, he claims to be the couple's son and daughter's friend from Harvard. After going through detailed knowledge about their children, he woos the dealers and their business guest with his charm, knowledge, and deep insight into the world (at this point Will Smith delivers some great monologue). Later the plot ensues and you find out the Paul is not who he claims to be
and the mystery unravels through dinner conversation and anecdote.
This movie is based on a play, and through the movie you can clearly see the strength of the dialog carries the story as well as the actors who deliver them. I love the movie for its depth in simplicity. How it uses conversation to draw you in rather than the typical action. It uses conversation to reveal the action and mystery that you so desire.
My favorite character in the movie is Ouisa Kittredge played by Stockard Channing. She's the main character who is closest to Paul and grows after this experience with Paul.
Do not be mistaken, this movie is NOT about a bunch of rich snobs coming to their way after being exposed to a black boy with promise and potential but no means. No, there is perhaps 5% of that in this movie, and there is no strong pretenses with this film. It goes deeper than just a sympathetic rich white lady, much deeper indeed.
This film may not be for everyone, but it is for those who love good dialogs and monologues and for those who love plays ( or at least don't mind them).
(the kid's were stupid and pointless one dimensional characters, but that's my only qualm).
Easy A (2010)
Perfect high school comedy
I was so sad when I realized I drank too much tea before going to the theater. Because I realized reached my pee limit, and did not want to miss a moment of the movie.
I love this movie, it has become one of my all time favorite teen-films. Not as great as Mean Girls (but I'm biased because I watched that in 9th grade), but it is smarter and sweeter. And Emma Stone is quite the hottie. It's plot is mainly a literary parallel to Nathan Hawthorne's Scarlett Letter, except there is no baby and no sex.. and it's set in modern day high school.
Her character has the intellectual goods that I adore, and the body I want. It doesn't do what the modern Comedy (Seth Rogen, Judd Apatow.. etc..) movie does, which is be funny in the beginning and then gets too serious and light hearted towards the end.
Instead, it stays smart and funny without any of the comedic awkwardness and line that are not too obscure and too perfectly prepared like in Juno (I swear if she was a real girl, I could see her having a list of witty things in her head and begging for the perfect opportunity to use them).
In all, this is the perfect high school comedy in a long time
with a lovable main character (who has awesome parents).
This movie made me believe in comedy again (that and The Other Guys) .
*Lastly, Emma Stone wears lots of sexy corsets. Also I love Malcom McDowell as the principal. He'll Clockwork Orange your ass.
Ten Inch Hero (2007)
Semi-enjoyable cast
Damn you Supernatural and Dark Angel. You made me love Jensen Ackles, currently playing Dean Winchester on CW's Supernatural. I started to look into what other films you might be in. Just to see your type-casted lovable character.
The total misunderstood sweetheart and loyal, bad boy. So you ended up playing the same character in Ten Inch Hero. I was happy even though you had a punk rock out cast look.
What I hated was the movie. I wasn't expecting too much but the cast made it semi-promising and enjoyable.
I was expecting something along the lines of Sex and Death 101. BUT NO! That could not happen. Even though I like Clea DuVall 's work in HBO's Carnivale, the movie Identity, among many other things
. and the guy from Boondocks Saint is in this film. Sean Patrick Flanery if you wonders what he's been in.. well this is one of them.
(*huge side note, I watched Boondock Saints II All Saints Day, and it sucked. William Dafoe was only in one scene and it is an exact replica of the first.. Also Sean Patrick Flanery got all bloaty in the face and he looked like Edward Norton, in my humble opinion. Which isn't too awful of a comment.)
Overall this film was trying to bring many stories together, with the common hold of all the people work at a sandwich shop. It had purpose in the beginning, but then it fell apart with it's focus on facts rather than good cinema.
I felt no connection with the characters, although I could imagine how someone might feel in their situation, but it was just too hokey dory for my taste. Although it had its moments in a little bit of funny parts, you can just tell how great I feel about a movie when all I comment on are the actors and what distracted me from the screen.
I do admit this movie does cater to others.
But, at times I felt it was worth watching just to see Jensen Ackles in a Mohawk and in a kilt and buying tampons.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)
Just as good as the first
My brother and boyfriend thought it was better than the first. I must say, "the two are equally good." Megan Fox was horrible actress there is zero sincerity, but her hotness made up for that
and as a girl I am alright with that.
Also the plot was entertaining and the effects were better than ever! I understand people were offended by the two twin robots, but I must be honest
that's a bit too politically correct for me. I can point out multiple instances of racism and bias towards many other cultures in lots of television shows as well as movies.
I think of transformers as a somewhat a family movie, it has something for everyone. So it messed up and made some "mistakes," obviously they are mending it by not bringing it up the twins the in third film.
Leap Year (2010)
Great scenery, average plot.
Firstly, I do not care for chick flicks
only when they are done well with sincerity and thought do I care for them. But with Leap Year, I am not sure if it was because I was up at 1:00 a.m. in the morning or that Ireland's scenery is just so breath taking I liked it. Granted a 5/10 may not seem like a "like." But I see an average movie as something to rent out on a rainy day when you are bored or just in a Amy Adams mood.
Quite honestly, I haven't seen a lot of things other than Enchanted that I liked her in. I saw Sunshine Cleaning and Julie and Julia both of which
she did not stand out to me at all. Also in Leap Year, she has some crazy side profiles where you see how big her nose is. Which is quite surprising, considering it looks so petite/medium from the front.
I also find it funny that the main guy from Party Down is her business, and practical boyfriend. It was random that Dee from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia was so tamed and normal as her best friend.
Also, the Irish guy is quite the hottie, he has the greenest eyes. They would make great movie babies. Green eyes and red hair is rarely a bad combination.
