ELEANOR YULE is an award-winning director with a wide range of experience across film drama and broadcast documentary. Documentary highlights include a profile on Scots psychiatrist R.D.Laing, a critically acclaimed 'Omnibus' on French painter Pierre Bonnard, and a BAFTA nominated 'Bookmark' on celebrated novelist Muriel Spark and a collaboration with ex - Python, Michael Palin, to produce one off documentaries about painters. Their latest offering, ‘MICHAEL PALIN AND THE MYSTERY OF HAMMERSHO’I, for BBC 1, inspired an exhibition at the Royal Academy in London and was nominated for both BAFTA and FIFA (Festival of Arts in Montreal).

Drama output includes, ‘Ghost Stories for Christmas’, starring veteran actor Christopher Lee, ‘Lost’, which she both wrote and directed, a supernatural thriller nominated for a BAFTA new talent award and her first feature ‘BLINDED’, which won the Jury Award at the Celtic International Film Festival and a Silver Screen Award in L.A. and played in competition at film festivals including Edinburgh (Michael Powell award), Taormina, Istanbul and Moscow.

In 2010 she was short-listed for Productions Base's inaugural 'Freelancer of the Year' award at the BFI in London and completed a Doric sketch show,’ DESPERATE FISHWIVES’ . Last year she directed ‘THE MISSING’, a harrowing documentary for BBC2 and started a pioneering practice based PHD in Screenwriting at UWS. She is currently in pre production for her second feature film, ‘Ask the universe’ and about to shoot a film profile on ‘Tove Jansson’, Finnish writer and artist and creator of the Mommins.
