The original concept had me hooked & when I watched the movie, the hook remained in place. It did what all good movies do i.e. To allow the intrigued viewer to ask this question: what would you have done? Worth even seeing twice too. Thank you. The second film gives us more of the premise & some additional detail on the invaders holding ones attention thank you. The third one? What in the world is going on? The story goes south & tries to take the viewer with it. There is a pattern emerging in Hollywood that making money & how to do it is very important AND with some movies they do just that. On sequels, they want to ride the gravy train AND some are done better than others. After that, there is a cop-out among the directors, story writers & actors that simply says: We we got paid! Whether you like the film or not doesn't matter to us. What I object to is the miseleading way we are are asked to care then dropped & forgotten. Shame on you people who made a lot of $$$ & then did what everyone else did. The viewer/fan left high & dry. Movie-making is not my chosen field so what do I know? However, spending my money on movies is. I want a refund on this third story. No matter. My expensive education continues. Don't keep doing this Hollywood especially with all the movie apps out there. You just might go broke?
The first platform movie, oh wow especially when people explained the allegory & how it relates to our society etc. When I saw #2 is out, I figured on an expansion of the the original with new ideas mixed in. What I am noticing in todays movie culture is there is a lack of creative ideas, story-telling & presentation. Does every movie today have to shoot each other endlessly for a movie to be made? Sex each other into soft porn? How about jumping the plot around until the viewer either veges-out or passes-out. This movie had me reaching for the remote after the first few minutes to get me out of there. No point, no plot, no story & to imply there is one is insulting. Why spoil the first movie premise with this meaningless follow-up? Is everyone on serious drugs in Hollywood? Keep this up & the whole industry will be destroyed because people will choose not to trust Hollywood anymore no matter what hype is pitched for a movie. What trash! Shame on all involved except for the ones that had to accept this to make a living however I wouldnt boast about it unless someone asked: What else have you done in your movie career? Then, explain this with an excuse that says this was for practice & money & nothing else. Francis Coppola & his new movie is another example of Hollywood going Hollywierd.
