Greatest Days (2023)
Could be a Greater Day
I have seen some quite negative reviews of this which I think were harsh. However it wasn't brilliant but I did warm to it as it went along. The Boys are somewhat off putting in places but as long as you get it into your head that they're not actually supposed to be Take That you'll get into the swing of things. Nice to see Mr Poppy in something else besides nativity stuff!!
The grown ups match well with their younger versions and it's a decent enough storyline with a satisfying uplifting ending.
I think it suffered from a lack of funding to bring off bigger and better numbers. It's no Mamma Mia and I preferred Sunshine on Leith!!
PS watch out for the buskers on the train 😜
Robin Hood (2018)
Drafted???
I am only 5 minutes in And Robin has received a Draft Notice for the Third Crusades signed Sheriff of Nottingham........seriously???? Should I go on - I'm not sure I can!! I'm pretty sure long bows were not used as guerilla warfare weapons. He's now back in Nottingham where the Sheriff has slapped a "Seizure of Property" notice on his ancestral home and Maid Marion is shacked up with Jamie Dornan (good luck with that one Robin!!). 30 mins in we're onto the intensive training/body building sessions with the super duper bow taking out the baddie knights with his rapid fire bow. Good gracious do I need to go on??????
SAS: Red Notice (2021)
Give it a go!
Oh come on everybody with your 1 stars - it's not THAT bad. If Gerard Butler can get away with it in all his "Fallen" films then why not Sam in this one? His Lord of the Manor background is a bit cheesy (like they're trying for an 007 audition) but if you suspend disbelief (as we all did cheering on Bruce Willis) it's an enjoyable action film that we all know how it's going to end.......and we get the great British 'C' word into the bargain!!!
