Reading Rainbow
This Reading Rainbow episode features a story about someone who wanted to play a part in a play, despite being a girl and a black. LeVar even introduces a black female actress who you may be familiar with - Whoopi Goldberg.
This episode also shows that you can achieve anything, even if you feel like you're in a minority. Whether you're the only black person in a group of white people or the only girl who works with mostly males, you can still overcome those obstacles. So whether you're an actor, a hockey player, or working for a plumbing service, all you need is to believe in what you can do and you'll come out on top.

This trilogy of story books by Rosemary Wells was first published in the early '90s. One particular book that I remember reading as a young boy was the Moss Pillows book. After watching this video, I finally got my chance to experience the other two books in the trilogy - The Island Light and First Tomato.
The Voyage to the Bunny Planet books are about kid bunnies who have bad days and nothing goes right for them. The Bunny Planet is a quiet, gentle place to get away from the chaos and other things that seem disturbing. Once in a while, it's a good idea to get away from the hectic happenings and find a nice quiet corner to be alone for a while. Everyone has a special place to go to and to be by themselves for a while. That's what the Bunny Planet books are pretty much about. That is why I recommend those books and this video to anyone who wants to read or watch something to make them find a quiet place of their own to get away from the hustle and bustle of their day.

Since Presidents' Day and Lincoln and Washington's birthdays are in the month of February, it makes since for me to write this review. This video, based on one of Rosemary Wells's books, is about a bunch of dogs who want to run for president of a school. One is a poodle named Tiffani, who is among the "popular" kids/dogs. There's also Charles, a bulldog who is a sports fanatic. But the main character, Otto, is a terrier who listens to everyone's suggestions on what he could do if he were elected the school's president. With help from his best friend, Melody, he hits the campaign trail.
As Rosemary Wells stated in an interview regarding the book, which was first published in 2006, elections are complicated. Who would have thought that Barack Obama would be elected the first African-American as US president two years after her book was published.
This is good title and book for anyone to read to give them a broader understanding of elections, be it presidential or otherwise.
