A young Polish - American man is confronted with a mysterious plague afecting a work colegue, his wife, maybe his father .
A sick of laugh, having at source a drawing in comedy newspaper. Richard is imune and his seriosity is the good explanation. But, in same measure, he becomes more and more alone, the job mates being too more interested by superficial things, his boss being too rigid, the wife preocuped only by his life - and, after her death , the loneliness having phisical aspect- , his father, affected by dementia, in a health house, being, in final, adept of laugh.
The basic virtue of film - admirable performance of Philip Ettinger in the role of Richard and the Franz Kafka touch of story.

Not the most impressive fantasy but decent crafted, pretty interesting and nice used themes.
An ex couple and their fight for a book. The XVII century and a confrontation between a noble peasant , decidet to destroy a magical book and a presumed witch interested by object as support for reincarnation.
The suggestion of a confrontation of centuries.
Young actors, not so bad performances, reasonable location and few drops of Carmina Burana for final. Difficult ( pretty unfair ) to be too critic and enough for admire the interesting development of good intentions, not ignoring than it represents only a sketch.

At the first sight, familiar. The young guy, the plumber, the language obstacle and the embarrasing situations for both.
Not exactly the twist represents a revelation.
So, the goofd point ? I suppose, the tension and the acting, the well used contrast between Andres Cifuentes and Georgy Chtchevaev. And , sure , the visit becoming date.
Few details of beginning are just precious , like the dialogue. A story gentle - realistic crafted, about forms of vulnerability, clash between middle age guy and young man and the mistake, presumed mistake covered by excuses and saved by a sort of trap.
In short, just good job.
