Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
Typical
Kill off the best character in the second episode in exchange for an over the top scene chewing villain. It's like killing Darth Maul in episode 1. Also, I have a problem with the continuity. Leia specifically states in NewHope "you served my father in the clone wars". Now we're supposed to believe she has this grand adventure with Kenobi but acts as if she never met and doesn't know him in New Hope?
Peacemaker (2022)
Great Show
I was never a John Cena fan. Really disliked his wrestling persona. This show is so good and has redeemed Cena in my eyes. Action, humor, and pathos all in one show. James Gunn is the man. My wife who has little interest in these shows loved it as well so that was a big plus. Not sure how anyone who is a fan of this genre could dislike this show. Looking forward to season 2.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)
A bit disappointing
Was looking forward to seeing this. Thought tying Shang Chi to the Ten Rings was an interesting twist for a character who traditionally has no powers. So much random. Why is Wong training the Abomination? Who cares it's funny even if it makes no sense. Random creature in cell can find the way to the magical land? Very lazy writing. Why did the Father think he could take over a land of warriors and magical creatures when just one of them kicked his butt? Who knows. Akwafina is kind of annoying and that shot at the end was so telegraphed and cringe. Why did Wong bring her along at the end? Who knows.

Did not have the classic Scooby Vibe. Trying to hard to be hip. Mystery Incorporated cartoon was so much better.

Could Not Make It Through
Literally a half an hour in my wife and I turn to each other and say "Are you enjoying this?". Nothing happens and there's no real plot. Why is any of this taking place? It's just nonsense.
Jay and Silent Bob Reboot (2019)
The Well Has Run Dry
Was hoping for better. Lame retread of the original. Some laughs to be be had up until maybe half way in and then it just hits the wall when the daughter and her companions come on the scene. Maybe less pot smoking would help Kevin.
Watchmen (2019)
Nowhere near a 10 or a 1
I have no issue with the underlying story and using white supremacists as the villains. What is problematic is taking the Watchman characters and just changing them to your whims to create a story. So Jon who had shed his humanity just does a complete 180 and comes back to Earth to pick up a random girl in a bar. Said girl then decides to start a relationship with this robotic individual with no personality. Ozymandias comes off as goofy comic relief just because it was needed in the story, not because it was his established character. And we really are to believe some cleaning women was able to determine that Ozy had sperm hidden in his office, find out his password, impregnate herself, and escape Karnak, which just happens to be in Antarctica? Potential was there to be better.
Batwoman (2019)
Wasted Potential
Big fan of the comic. Was looking forward to this show. Writers are terrible. How about crafting a story with some mystery and surprises? String out the Alice reveal over the course of the season. Also, you introduce Tommy Elliot and immediately reveal him to be a villain? Just horrible story structure. The tone is off as well. Alice should be darker. She comes off a little too goofy at times.
Hereditary (2018)
Another Hyped Let Down
I had no issues with the basic premise of the plot. The execution was the big let down.
-A mother wouldn't send her awkward almost autistic 13 yr old daughter to a party with her 17 yr old brother.
-Brother accidentally gets sister killed in ridiculous fashion, auto accident and no cops involved?
-Mother has a break down and never taken to a hospital/psych ward.
-Son has a break down and injures himself w/no hospital/psych ward visit. Sure he may have a concussion but who cares.
-Father so concerned for his son but doesn't leave with him or make mother get help.
If you can make it through to the middle at least the ending is somewhat creepy.
Iron Man Three (2013)
The Tony Stark Comedy Hour - Spoilers
This is not an Iron Man movie. Tony is in the suit for maybe 15 mins tops. Most of the movie is slapstick and RJD throwing out one liners. There are so many things wrong with the movie. No building tension as none of the attacks are on screen. You only see the one incident at the theatre caused by Happy. It would have been better to see escalating attacks around the globe and a building threat. The Mandarin was a total throw away after building up the Ten Rings over 2 movies. Maya was a wasted character. She would have been interesting had she been Tonys first love who came back and caused friction between him and Pepper. Instead she was a one night stand and there was no emotional weight to her heel turn. It was ridiculous that Tony had 40 sets of armor but the only one available to him during the attack on his house was an experimental model that didn't work. In addition he then spends the next hour of the movie investigating without functioning armor. Really? He has no armor at Stark Tower? Very disappointing movie.
