Ricky Gervais: SuperNature (2022)
Ricky at his finest. Brilliant.
Hits so many societal issues. Love the way he can poke outrageous fun at even the most sensitive. Please do not comment, or watch?, if you're already brainwashed. Perspectives. Let it go and laugh.
The Kids in the Hall (2022)
A hit out of the park!
Original Canadiana with hints of Monty Python. Hilarious. Ignore the low ratings, put aside your puffy airs and enjoy. "In Oshawa auto workers and strippers are in the same union". Funny as hell. Was never a fan of the originals...30 fricken years ago! Liking this so far. The "last fax" scene is great "I like sleeping with couriers because they come fast"...lol. Lighten up and enjoy.
The Pentaverate (2022)
First episode Fuclarious!
Winner. This is an absolutely hilarious show if you remember it's comedy folks. Myers has been missed and is back in his unique, true form. My wife walked away. I'm hooked. Go figure. Comedy is so based on personality. If you're looking for an uplift, check this out.
The Bubble (2022)
Brilliant comedy
Whoa. Lots of way too serious people here. What's with all the bad reviews? Wonder how the 3 Stooges, Abbot & Costello et al would do with modern critics? Seems like few people get comedy. I'm 60+ and loved this silly slapstick comedy. It's a hilarious look at the pandemic. Maybe it's mood thing. Grab some popcorn, a drink, put your smile on and enjoy.
Finch (2021)
So much potential.
A long, boring, inconsequential story with beautiful wrapping. I would give this a 10 for the acting, filming, and effects. But, the story is thin, preposterous, and boring, it brings it down to a 4. Worthy of watching while multitasking.
Clickbait (2021)
Great story
And I would have given it a 9 or 10 but just too many people doing too many stupid things. Hey, it's a movie.
When Nature Calls (2021)
Helen, such talent, what were you thinking?
What an embarrassment. Started with amazing photography and narration by Helen Mirren. Then, the animals started "talking". Childish concept. Lasted for 10 mins. Noooo.
See (2019)
Who is the audience here?
Seriously? Who is the audience? They're all blind but oh yah need to paint faces for battle right? Piercings? Feathers? Like, why? Despite good acting, amazing visuals, too many stupid scenes.
American Horror Story: Camp Redwood (2019)
Horrifyingly hilarious!
So purposefully campy, corny, and a fun romp, it works so well. Would be great for outdoor theatre and a new Halloween must! Almost a shame that it drags out so long. If this was condensed to a 90-120 min movie, it would become an instant cult, Halloween, classic.
The Lie (2018)
A promising start
Then everything goes downhill. If this was called "stupid people" it would have been more appropriate. Interesting story with a nice twist but so painful to watch.
Fantasy Island (2020)
This is one fun filled flick
Sounds like a lot of critics out there. Why the low ratings? Acting is well done. Great remake. It's a roller coaster romp. Give it a watch.
Norsemen (2016)
Brilliant - Hilarious
This show is not only visually stunning and authentic, it is well written and the acting is superb. This is right up there with the likes of Seinfeld, 30 rock, curb your enthusiasm, & everyone loves Raymond. A must watch.
Little Fires Everywhere (2020)
Absolute Wow! Just wow.
Whoa. #LittleFiresEverywhere on #Prime. Great story. Fantastic acting. Heart wrenching out of the gate. Bingeworthy and a must watch.
The Wrong Missy (2020)
Love a good laugh? Not here.
I wanted to like this. Love a good belly laugh. This has what could have been a good story and actors. But, it's a huge fail. It's not funny, just idiotic and a pointless money grab.
Love Wedding Repeat (2020)
Pure Fun
Good acting, not overdone, nice story and good for a few belly laughs. Find me a perfect movie. This much better than some of the ratings given.
Burden of Truth (2018)
It's All About The Story
Nope. Don't know where these high ratings are coming from. Got 1/2 through E2. Well acted and may be a good overall story but the sub-stories are just stupid filler. Hint. German Shepherd and neighbour. Why oh why...
Axios (2018)
Whoa. I'm thinking negative reviews are from those that are worried!
Just caught a couple of episodes. Seems balanced, good reporting, great questions which will cause much discomfort to those that are corrupt, or incompetent. Hang in there.
The Aeronauts (2019)
Thoroughly enjoyable
Hey, I'm no aeronautic historian or engineer, and I found this movie totally enjoyable. Well acted, a gripping story, great (albeit highly improbable) action and excitement. I mean, it is a movie right? Well worth the investment in time.
Downsizing (2017)
Started off great
Then got very painful to watch. Director is probably thinking how do I get out of here? Good acting, bad story. Save your time
Phil (2019)
Loved this
So much of any movie depends on a persons mood, attention, ambience, and setting, and I think many of these poorer reviews are misguided. I thought it was very enjoyable. Several laughs, good acting and story. A worthwhile investment of 90 mins or so.
Glass (2019)
Just not a good story!
With the one exception being James McAvoys acting, this movie is just bad. Useless characters, bad plot, disjointed. I'm thinking this, along with several other recent Bruce Willis flops, is just another way for him to bump his imminent retirement nest egg. Save your time.
We Die Young (2019)
What did I just watch?
This is just bad. Any good reviews must be from teenage, males, who might barely enjoy this. JCVD doesn't even do much in the way of fight scenes. Crappy story, so so acting, means a total waste of time.
Hotel Mumbai (2018)
Riveting - An amazing movie
Forget all the negative reviews. How anyone could not think this was anything but an amazing movie astounds me. Captivating, engrossing, and brutal...as was the actual event. This is life people, in its raw, perverse, form. Reality often sucks.
Halloween (2018)
Fun Horror Flick
Poor, misunderstood Michael. Never figured out how to use a gun...nor has anyone else! Hey, don't read any more into this than is necessary. This is just a pure, fun horror flick. Dumb, yes but entertaining and will make a go-to movie at Halloween. It's really hard to do anything new or original in this genre and they don't try to. No spoilers because we all know how it ends...or do we?
Get Out (2017)
Just good fun folks!
Well acted, fun story - a horror with a comedic twist. It's a movie folks. This was enjoyable from a late 50s perspective. Not sure where some of the low ratings come from Its time well spent.
