Popcorn & Chocolate (2017)
Best 14 minutes I've spent watching a movie in years!
Wow. This remarkable short film packs a powerful emotional punch! Kudos to Michael Baker for writing, producing and starring in ii.
I researched his own story and it can inspire millions of boomers who are looking for their "next act." Michael apparently began as a filmmaker and actor in his mid to late 50s after a successful business career. Following his passion, he has unleashed a gigantic talent. And do watch this film. It's unforgettable.-Judy Katz, Manhattan.
Finding Julia (2019)
'Finding Julia' Movie is an Edge-of-Your Seat Psychological Thriller
Driven by a mesmerizing performance by lead actress Ha Phuong, this thriller finds fresh perspective by exploring difficult themes. Ha Phuong more than holds her own alongside seasoned co-stars Andrew McCarthy and Richard Chamberlain playing Julie Chamonix, a young Eurasian aspiring actress in New York City who is caught in a desperate clash between two cultures and her own inner demons. A slow burning narrative builds toward a thundering climax, one that I found extremely satisfying. This film may be dark at times, but the tone is tempered by great music, some of it sung by Ha Phuong herself, and scenes that smolder with titillating intensity. This film solidifies itself as one of the best sensual/psychological thrillers in recent memory.
