Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
"Faith Alfred, Faith"
Loved every single second of it, it was just beautiful. I have nothing further to say.
WandaVision (2021)
It was Marvel all along!
I was curious when it was announced that various characters would be getting their own shows on Disney +. The MCU for many years has always been the big screen and i admit i was skeptical about the changing format, and i can't deny i loved every minute of it!
Picking Wanda was a wonderful choice to start the Disney + shows, it gives her Character so much development that was lightly touched upon in the main movies. The Storyline starts off rather confusing, but as the episodes move forward things start to fall into place with a satisfying conclusion.
It left me looking forward to what will happen next with Wanda in Dr Strange, as well other characters such a Monica and how they will continue with her story in the movies / shows moving forward.
If you're a fan of the MCU then this show is a must watch!
Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020)
Paving the way for greatness!
I really really enjoyed this game. It was similar to the main game in terms of gameplay but tweaked enough so that Miles felt like his own Spiderman in terms of web-swinging and combat.
Story was enjoyable, especially watching Miles develop and grow confidence in becoming his own version of Spiderman.
It left me wanting more and i really look forward to see what they do next!
Control (2019)
A Simply Fine Game!
I'd always intended to grab this game, however managed to bag it as a PS Plus Freebie, which once played i was very surprised it had been as free game, especially given it had just been given the remaster treatment for PS5!
The gameplay is enjoyable, especially if you like shooters with a supernatural twist. The graphics and attention to detail simply leaves you in awe.
The only downside would be the storyline, the general gist is easy enough to follow, however further background information could be given to make it abit easier to follow.
Mortal Kombat 11 (2019)
Great Combat System, Overly Complex Storyline
The general fighting system matches that of all Mortal Kombat Games and is enjoyable as graphics have greatly improved over the years. Fatalities are on top form as always. Gameplay generally is really great.
The Storyline is abit over the top? Almost like it tries to be too clever for its own good? I understand them wanting to adjust various timelines to keep the franchise from ending but it makes us wonder what future there is for various characters we've grown to love over the years?
Timeless (2016)
An enjoyable Time Travel Drama
I love the concept of time travel, at first i thought this show was going to be a cheesy CW type Drama, however i was wrong. I enjoyed the overall arc of the series with character development. I really became invested in the characters and their own stories. An easy to watch Programme.
What is mostly enjoyable, is that every episode is set in a different period in history, with the characters meeting various historical figures across time.
Mortal Kombat X (2015)
Welcome Aboard
Having heard of Mortal Kombat, it was always something i wanted to get into, but never got around too it. This game is designed perfectly to allow new players into the world of Mortal Kombat.
Yes, i had to do abit of background reading into some of the original characters but apart from that, the game was enjoyable and understood each of the characters roles within this universe.
Ghost of Tsushima (2020)
Honor Died on the Beach
A truly amazing tale of a samurai who loses everything and puts aside his honorable samurai ways to defeat an enemy who do not with the same kind of honor.
The gameplay is very enjoyable, the cinematography and scenery leaves you in awe at all times, with photo mode giving you the opportunity to capture some impressive moments.
The storyline is told perfectly having the right level of emotion and conflict within the characters.,
Assassin's Creed: Valhalla (2020)
Victory to the Assassins!
A game i thoroughly enjoyed, much like its predecessors in terms of combat and gameplay Valhalla lets your explore the world through the eyes of Viking settlers seeking a new home.
The main storyline is simply the Raven Clan looking to settle within England and make new allies, with the side storyline being The Hidden Ones and seeking and eliminating the Order of Ancients, soon the become the Templar Order.
Voice acting and animation is smooth and a joy to watch, you become immersed within the world you are playing and truly feel part of the clan.
Vampyr (2018)
Actions have consequences.
I had never even heard of this game until it was released as a PS Plus monthly freebie and i am extremely glad that i downloaded and played it.
As far as gameplay goes, it's not as well developed as a lot of the larger more common game developers, i.e. EA and Rocksteady, but it stands it's ground well in the gothic horror story it wants to tell.
I would like to say that Anthony Howells voice is extremely pleasant on the ears, it suits the character of Jonathan Reid well, a good honest but tired man, having now become a blood thirsty monster in the city of London.
Your actions throughout the game determine how the story progresses, resulting in various different endings for Jonathan.
The Dark Tower (2017)
Elba. Idris Elba.
I've not read the Dark Tower Novels so i had no idea as to what this was going to be about. I had read a lot of negative reviews, however as someone who has not read the books i enjoyed the movie. It was a bit slow in certain areas but i enjoyed all of the actors performances and action sequences.
I would say given upon the reaction of people who know the books well, that if like me have not read them, then you will enjoy this movie.
Maneater (2020)
Sharks Bite.
This game was always on my purchase list, however to my surprise as part of Januarys PlayStation Plus PS5 release, this game was the pick of the month.
Overall, i enjoyed swimming around eating everything i came across, fish and human alike.
The only downside is the lack of customization for your shark as well as the overall duration of the game. It took me around 10 hours to complete the main storyline including a lot of the side missions as well.
The sole purpose of the game is to eat everything you can, which if that is for you then this game provides that service.
Cyberpunk 2077 (2020)
A fun game despite the minor bugs
Playing Cyberpunk on PS5, after a few hours of playing i did sigh with some disappointment at the number of bugs that kept occurring, from an NPC following you around after completing a mission and having to spend time trying to work out how to get rid of them (which is fast travel), or summoning a vehicle for it to come crashing through walls and stuck in a position you could not enter.
The experience of Cyberpunk apart from the bugs was enjoyable, the ideas and storyline where fantastic as well as the design of Night City and the Characters you meet within main mission and side missions left you wanting more. The world reacting to your actions later down the line was a nice touch, you can easily play the game numerous times and different ways for various scenarios and endings.
Johnny Silverhand is a character i thoroughly enjoyed witnessing within the game, the character development over the story was a nice touch and was rather sad to see it all end.
Despite the overall bad reviews from people of current gen consoles, i would recommend people purchasing this for PC or Next Gen.
The Mandalorian (2019)
This is the way.
A very strong and honorable series that provides fan service to those who grew up with the original series, prequals and animated series. As a big star wars fan The Mandalorian makes you giddy with every episode, whether it be major cameos or even minor ones.
This is the type of show you get when you have fans directing, people passionate about what they're writing and know the lore of the Star Wars Universe inside and out.
Knightfall (2017)
Easy Entertainment
A slow start however picked up towards the end of series 1. Season 2 however had me on the edge of my seat throughout!
It is an entertaining drama, more gore than expected but that isn't a bad thing.
Characters over time you became to love and connect with, Landry makes for an interesting protagonist, with certain actions becoming the sole reason events throughout the series take place.
I would also say Mark Hamill was a thrill to watch, you could tell he was enjoying himself within this role.
