Job Title: Regional Sales Representative

Reports To: Publisher/Editor

Job Overview:

In The Hills, an independent quarterly regional magazine, is seeking an energetic sales professional who is passionate about connecting current and prospective advertisers in Caledon and Erin with the best loved, most respected media company in Headwaters.

The role involves print and digital advertising sales and premium customer service.

This is a part-time, semi-flexible remote position. Candidates living in Caledon, Erin, Dufferin County (including Orangeville) or close by are preferred. Compensation is commission on sales. High potential earnings from current well-established customer base, plus prospecting.

Qualifications:

  • proven sales experience; experience in media sales is preferred
  • excellent professional and interpersonal skills, including oral and written communications, directed at retaining our well-established base of current advertisers and actively developing new ones
  • ability to work independently and manage workflow between and during peak sales periods, while collaborating effectively with the publisher and sales team
  • availability for in-person meetings and client visits upon publication each quarter (mid-March, late June, early September and late November)
  • a strong understanding of the small business landscape and customer needs in the region
  • knowledge of In The Hills (our archive: inthehills.ca/archive)
  • familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software such as Publish2Profit
  • Bachelor’s degree, post-secondary education or relevant working experience; digital marketing training is an asset
  • a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s licence
