Wrapping Beer for a Gift 2020
Hello 2021!
So my first post of this year is to share another idea of how we were able to wrap a beer gift for a family member for Christmas 2020 and we are pretty proud of it!
It was my nephew’s pollyanna and his girlfriend came up with the idea which was a funny way to symbolize 2020.
The Plan
I had a huge roll of blank newspaper that worked perfectly to cut into strips to keep it together.
Then, we wrapped and taped it around 3 cans each. Then I wrapped that into tissuepaper to add some padding for more roundness.
I cut up a heavy duty cardboard box we had to make the platforms for the bottom and middle so we could carry it easily. We then arranged on the boards how many ‘rolls’ we could get out of all the cans. It was 6 rolls per row.
After figuring out placement, I started wrapping and stuffing the tissue paper. Then it was a matter of putting another white strip of paper around the entire thing for the sides of the toilet paper. This was as round as I could make it.
Measuring the circumference, I cut out the white circles on the top. I cut two colors of brown paper, one circle and one half moon, for a 3D type look for the inner roll.
After wrapping, I stacked the toilet papers, and the mimicked Angel Soft toilet paper logo. I found a picture of the giftee when young, added some wings like the angel soft logo and since it was beer did a play on words where normally the logo had how many sheets of paper there were but i changed it to the year and ‘sheets to the wind’. LOL if you know you know.
I then modified the upper left and right papers to reference the beer as well.
After done setting up the papers, I had bought at a thrift store years before clear shrink wrap plastic that can be hairdried around an item. I didn’t have a use for it when i bought it for a few bucks. I’m sure glad i did though, it’s funny how that works out.
That’s it! We gave it to her and she got a kick out of it. Loved it! LOL
