We seek only the very best teachers, administrators and staff in our ongoing journey to make the International School of Amsterdam the foremost educator preparing students to become enlightened world citizens.
Vacancies are listed throughout the school year. Recruitment for faculty is done via our online listings and at several international recruitment fairs from December through February. Substitute and administrative staff vacancies are posted on our online listings. As we are not able to accept open applications, we strongly encourage candidates to target their applications to a specific vacancy.
Safe Recruitment Practice
Aligned with the recommendations of the International Task Force on Child Protection, ISA holds itself to a high standard of effective recruiting practices with specific attention to child protection. This includes – but is not limited to:
- checks to verify the candidate’s identity
- checks on employment history and education qualifications
- completing reference checks with provided referees (to include current supervisor) that include questions on suitability to work with children
- a criminal background check
Successful candidates will also be required to renew their criminal background check at regular intervals.

Nursery, Early Childhood and Lower School Vacancies
Our roster of substitute teachers for Lower School is currently full.

After School Care Vacancies
ISA is currently looking for substitutes for our After School Care programme.
Child care qualifications (at least SPW 3 or comparable English equivalent CACHE level 2 or higher) and pedagogical knowledge are required. Ideally a PE qualification and experience are preferred.
To work as a substitute at our school, you need to have an EU passport (or applicable work permit) and valid Dutch health insurance. If you meet the above-mentioned requirements, please send your CV and cover letter to [email protected]
