The Pilot (Namiki) Falcon...

The Pilot (Namiki) Falcon Soft Fine is a fantastic drawing pen. It produces nice variation in line thicknesses depending on how heavy of light you push down. The springiness in the nib produces the right amount of feedback that any and all skill levels will appreciate. I initially thought the pen was light in weight, but after hours of drawing with it my thoughts about that has changed. The pen is easy to handle, and it seems to handle Noodler's Bulletproof black pretty well--just don't expect it to produce consistent thick lines with the tines wide open after the 4th or 5th stroke. My only real complaint with the the Falcon is the volume of ink it holds in its converter. You can finish a sketch on letter size paper on one fill-up, but for those times you're away from home and don't wish to bring a bottle of ink along, I wished it had a larger capacity.

Meets my expectations But I had used a friend's and knew what to expect. It's a great, easy-to-carry drawing pen. In that regard, I only wish it had a greater ink capacity. As a writing pen, I wish it was a little heavier. But it has compelled me to practice my upstrokes and that can't be all bad. I am enjoying it more than I do other, comparably priced pens. I'm actually becoming attached to it.

I like it. Scratchy, took some getting used to. Still experimenting with differents colors, and types of ink. Look at the top of the clip looking down on the pen from the top. It's pentagon-shaped, just like the Namiki emblem.

Best fountain pen so...

Best fountain pen so far. I got 3 fountain pens from Lamy, 1 from Conklin and 1 from Pilot before this Falcon.
Be honest, the Pilot nib alway give me great feeling & sounding while writing. Only one minor point is the weight of the Falcon. It is too light for me ‘cause I am personally prefer a heavy pen. Overall, this is a great pen.
