Wanda's Obituary
VERONA - Wanda Faye Padgett, 84, of Verona, peacefully passed away on Monday, December 4,2023 while at home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 7,2023 Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel. Burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Mrs. Padgett was born at James Walker Hospital in Wilmington, NC on December 7,1938 to Eva Foy.
She lived in Wilmington for a short period of time before moving to Georgia where she graduated from Forsyth County High School in 1958. After graduation, she moved to Jacksonville, NC where she worked at Carolina Telephone until she married Elmer J. Padgett, thereafter she dedicated her life to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker.
She was baptized into Christ in 1966 and became a member of Roosevelt Drive Church of Christ where she was a member the rest of her life.
She was predeceased by her mother Eva Foy, step-father, Roy Emmett; and son, Timothy J. Padgett.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Elmer J. Padgett; daughter, Stormy P. Hull and husband, David of Surf City, daughter-in-law, Kathy Padgett of Zebulon, four grandchildren, Jon Joseph Hull, Carly Jean Hull, Alex Vincent Hull and Andrea Marshburn; two great-grandchildren; and her faithful companion "Wiggles".
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM on Wednesday evening, December 6, 2023 at the funeral home.
