Hello welcome to the site I am master tech and will be able to assist you
which wiring are you looking for ?
what are you installing ?
i am trying to tap off of the red and white audio (aux) inputs in the back of the center console. I want to add the same type of jack inside the center console.
ok let me grab this info please give me a few mins.
so you want to add a spliter for the audio ? or add more power outlets ?
MASTER TECH40419.708959838if possible i would like to tap off those red and whites to add a 3.5 mm jack for a ipod or the like... is that possible?
ok thanks for the update.
this will most likely not work . the best and safest thing to do so you don't get any audio interference is buy a i pod adapter.
this will give you the correct aux port for your i pod.
once you start cutting shielded wires your going to have nothing but problems.
I would NOT cut these wires.
understood can you still provide the wiring diagram?
so you have the console apart so i would just solder on the back of the aux port then
is this the wiring for the rear of the center console? The wires dont seem to match in color and i dont see the wire noted for the video (yellow) input. I am not tapping that one but it should be noted.
Also you didnt recommend me tapping into it, what issues do you forsee, i am only tapping the audio wires left and right...
thanks
the yellow wire on your new part is for video.so leave this one taped.
i would solder to the back of the aux port where the wires goes into the plug.
if you can send me a picture of the item your working with so i have a better look
it will let me see what your trying to hook up and then we can go from their .
no
you have to click on the tree icon on the tool bar to add a image
ok much better and what is your wiring info like ?
you know this is for head phones correct ?
the i pod will not play from this .
my iphone plays through this now, issue is i have to route the wires in the open air and the kids kick them all the time
i see. where is this hooked up at wire wise ?
in the rear of the center console?
ok will you take a picture of this so i can see how you have this wired .
why dont you just use the aux port in the center console ?
it is in the 2nd row seating area and the kids kick the jacks all the time. That is why i wanted to tap the wires and add a jack inside the center console.
do you have a wiring diagram of this back area. I cant seem to open up the jacks i sent you a picture of so i will have to tap the wires in the harness before they plug in
the center console has a aux jack .
ok now im with you.
but that is exactely what i want to add. the right and left audio is a perfect way to get there if i can figure out the wiring
ok i found it.
the inputs have video (yellow) also, are you sure this is the correct drawing?
let me look again .
this is showing the rear aux plug. i will look again
is this a usa or canada car ?
MASTER TECH40419.8209001157ok i have found some more info and pin info
noise interference is the main reason. these systems are so prone to noise it will drive you nuts.
the safest thing so you don't create a problem i would install a kit for this. i know this is a simple thing to add but cutting wires that are shielded is a bad thing to do
