My "primary email" shows 2 unread messages. I cannot find them to "as read". Tried every wildcard search without joy.

Customer: My "primary email" shows 2 unread messages. I cannot find them to mark "as read". Tried every wildcard search without joy. Suggestions?
Technician's Assistant: Who is your email provider (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc.)?

Technician's Assistant: How do you usually access your email? On a phone or tablet, or through a web browser?
Customer: All of those. On my iPhone/iPad I see "2 unread", until it try's to download and sees none and reverts back to zero Then later it will see 2 unread again... "rinse and repeat".
Technician's Assistant: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I've searched for in:unread, any:unread... but I'm stuck. Suggestions?
Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mac Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Just this issue.

You may simply put "in:unread" in search box for Primary category to list the unread emails only.

The method is correct.

However, one more thing you can try: first go to All Mails fold, then try the "in:unread" in the search box and let me know if anything is different.

If you still can't the 2 unread messages, I would speculate it is a programming bug of Gmail for mobile webpages.

Please use a computer to do the same thing, it should be different then.

I've tried it previously with the same (unfound) result. Old Windows 7, and I tried Chrome, FireFox, and Internet Exploder. My mailbox has 2 unread and un-findable emails. What should I do?

I think a remote assistance session is required, so I can troubleshooting directly on your computer to find out why.
