I understand your concern. I need some more information.

1. Have you noticed any changes in your appetite or weight recently?

3. Have you had any recent exposure to secondhand smoke or any other environmental factors that could be affecting your lung health?

4. Do you have a history of any respiratory problems or lung symptoms?

5. Do you have a history of smoking?

6. Please tell me your age and gender.

I would be glad to assist you.

Customer
Im 46 male. No weight or appetite issues. Its a tightness in my chest and some wheezing on exhale. Its a dry cough sometimes at night usually. No history.,
Customer
Our house is very dry as well

Thank you for the reply. Are there any specific signs or symptoms that make you worry about your having lung cancer?

Customer
Just that the congestion/cough are still hanging around.. i feel like this happened like a year ago and lasted awhile. Im also a bit of a hypochondriac and afraid to go to the Dr.

Thank you for the information. I appreciate your taking the time to share all the information.

I am preparing my response and I will post it in 10 to 15 minutes.

Thank you for your patience. I completely understand your concern, and I want to assure you that I will provide you with the necessary information and guidance about the situation.
It seems that you had an upper respiratory tract infection. Most of these infections are caused by viruses, and sometimes they can lead to acute bronchitis.
Even if they don't lead to acute bronchitis, there can be lingering post-viral inflammation causing symptoms to persist, including coughing and a feeling of condition.
There might be slight narrowing of the airways along with inflammation, and that might be responsible for the feeling of tightness condition, decreased breath-holding capacity.
This should improve over the next few weeks, and you should be back to normal. There is nothing to suggest lung cancer as there is a very clear history of upper respiratory tract infection preceding the recovery phase where you still might have some symptoms.
Customer
It can last weeks after?? Or even longer?

Usually not more than 2 to 3 weeks. However for some people it can take longer.

Customer
infection for a week or so than 2-3 weeks after with lingering affects are normal?
Customer
It is much better than it was like 10 days ago so I guess thats a good sign..

Yes, that's a good sign. It would keep getting better.

Customer
it doesn’t point to something serious? Maybe covid or RSV?
Even if it was covid-19 or RSV infection, it is getting better. That is what is important.
Customer
Definitely no weight loss, is that usually a big indicator of cancer?
Customer
Fluid in lungs?

You don't have cancer.

Customer
Hope your right. Thanks

I am sure things would keep getting better.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

Customer
most likely long covid or something
Even infections like a common cold can have lingering symptoms for a couple of weeks.
Customer
Its been like 3 weeks though..
If you feel that your symptoms are not getting better even after 3 weeks, it would be a good idea to see a doctor in person and have an evaluation. Possible that you have bronchitis and your doctor would be able to prescribe appropriate treatment after examining you.
Customer
Or cancer:(
I really don't think that you have cancer. When you see your doctor, your doctor will be able to confirm.

Thank you for providing me an opportunity to answer your question.
