Hello there
I am the expert and it will be my pleasure to help you
OK is there any air coming out the vents?
OK so both inside and outside units are on, but no air coming out the vents?!
Go see your air filter
Remove it. Put your hand and tell me if you feel any airflow
Look in the back, at the pipes.
Is there ice / frost?
Are you certain?
But the blades are spinning?
Touch the pipe in the back, underneath the black insulation.
Feel it, is it cold?
Show me where you are touching
That’s fine.
Just the power off immediately to avoid more damage.
If the lines are frozen, the coil is frozen as well.
Everything off for a few hours, to let the ice melt.
When you changed the filter, was it really dirty?
At the thermostat is fine
Okay, usually when the ice builds up, it’s because:
Unit is dirty
There is an issue with the refrigerant
Thankfully, it seems it was just dirty, causing restrictions.
Power off a few hours, then you will run the AC again. It should be fine.
My pleasure. You've done extremely well, and extremely well to reach out here on JustAnswer. Congrats.
On my end, it is heartwarming to help! Keep me posted, I will be here at your disposal should you need me. Add me to your favourites so you can reach me faster, if you ever have questions for AC / Heating equipment! Have a wonderful day, and God bless you!
