Contractor's Assistant: Is there power coming into the thermostat base from the HVAC system?
Customer: only seeing three volts. Basic honeywell weekday/weekend tstat powered by AAAs
Contractor's Assistant: Is there anything else the HVAC Technician should know about the system or any other troubleshooting steps you have taken?
Customer: it is a Burnham Alpine 210 unit with a TACO ZVC404-4All other zones work.

ok I am review your question and pulling up the manuals for your unit.
Ok so you do not have the C wire connected to your thermostat
So your thermostat is just powered by the batteries
ok so when you turn your thermostat up do you see the LED lights on the zone board for the zone?
ok got it.
Most likely the thermostat has failed.
We can try to reset it by taking the batteries and putting them in backwards for 30 seconds and then putting them back in correct
So lets go to the zone controller
ok so lets take a jump wire and go from R to W on the zone in question.
Tell me if the relay click and the lights light up for that zone.
Nope you can leave them
try the others as well.
ok so that means that the zone board relay for that zone has failed.
And to be sure the led light does not even come on?
ok that means you would need to replace the zone controller
its failed internally
yeah any power surges could have caused this. and or years of use.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Is there anything else I can help you with today?
Ok well try to enjoy the rest of 2024.
