Description

New for The DeMarini Voodoo has become the bat of choice for elite college and high school players all over the country. This year's Voodoo is perhaps the best yet. With a hybrid design featuring an X10 Alloy barrel joined with a TR3 F.L.O. Composite handle, DeMarini has created a baseball bat that is beyond good. DeMarini's brand new alloy, X10, is designed with a proprietary blend of alloy agents that when put together create a barrel with optimal strength. This unique strength allows for finely tuned barrel walls to create the ultimate sweet spot, no matter what regulations may exist. The TR3 F.L.O. Composite handle further enhances the Voodoo's strength, while creating a lighter swing weight than ever before. DeMarini's Half and Half two-piece technology makes YOU stronger by silencing feedback on off-center hits and creating the largest, most responsive sweetspot by flexing before impact and recoiling with a burst of ball-launching energy! The Voodoo's exclusive Ion V End Cap has two layers. One to keep the barrel stiff, while the other transfers energy from barrel to ball with pure over-the-fence power. Constructed with an ever-so-slight endload, the Voodoo feels like you've harnessed the power of a thousand black suns to sacrifice the soul of the fastball. DeMarini: Born Hardcore! The Voodoo is BBCOR Certified and approved for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: I am a high school and travel player and this is by far the best bat I have encountered. The sound is similar to its BESR predecessors, as is the pop. Despite the end load, this bat feels very balanced when swung and has a very large sweet spot. The cosmetics are appealing as well. Really well priced I would pay more for this than the CF5, and I have hit with both.

Cons: I have not found a con thus far, although my teammates all want to use it so that could be a con.

Better Baseball

Pros: So today I bought this bat, and I swung all the other bbcor bats there. Im a very skinny player at about 110 in the 9th grade so you can expect my bat speed to be low. and it was. I averaged the power brigade series and mt bat speed was 66. and the total average was 65, excluded all the demarini bats. they had the best bat speed. the average was around 70 mph. the highest was the CF5 at 72, but it doesnt have as much pop as the voodoo. and the voodoo was at 70. and it's cheaper. so i recommend this bat, and all the demarini bats. good job DeMarini.

Cons: it doesn't have any.

Pros: good weight balance transfer on swing ball seems to jump off closer to besr level then previous bbcor

Cons: carring distance for a young teenager needs to generate fast bat speed , so if your child has a long or slow swing this is not the bat for him

Cons: The finish on this bat is not very durable ( as in Paint) after my first game with it my Dad brought to my attention how the paint was already chipping of, so he was not to happy with that seeing how he pays for my bats.

Big_P

Pros: This is a really great bat. No weaknesses. The entire barrel is a sweet spot. Be aware tho'- this bat is extremely end loaded and feels much heavier than the CF5, S1 or TPX. Great bat for College players and maybe 17 or 18yr old high school players. I would not recommend this bat for the younger players (13yrs or 14yrs) or go with a smaller size (31" or 32"). This bat is extremely durable and you do not need to worry about using it in hot or cold temperatures, works great all the time. Composite bats are a much better short term investment (S1, XL1, CF5) however be ready to replace it every season. Unlike the composite bats, this bat will not lose its pop after a couple of months. Seems to get better the more you use it. If you can afford to replace the bat every season, then I would recommend a CF5 or S1 but if you need a bat to last more than a season this one is great investment.

Cons: This bat takes a long time to break in. Maybe 500 to 800+ balls (solid bat once it's broken in). The end load makes it difficult for the younger players to make solid contact. Younger players will typically upper cut and pop-up with this bat. You need to be a stronger player or maybe go with a smaller bat size.

Pros: My son is a high school power hitting catcher that has signed a D1 LOI. I spent $400 on an Easton bat that he hates because it is too light. He has came back to the VooDoo and loves the end load. He says he can feel where the bat head is when he swings. This is the 3rd VooDoo that I have bought for him and he has hit great with all of them.

Pros: In love with the pop of this bat, the look, the feel, the sound, and now my batting average. I am not a big guy, 5'9 150. But I am the starting catcher for my varsity team. I bought this bat because the Omaha wasn't feeling just right. I got the 32.5 and won't be going back! Get this bat, my coach thought I was using a besr at my first batting practice with it.

Cons: The paint chips easily, and everyone wants to use it.

Best bat we've had! JB Thompson coach

Pros: Amazing pop. Great graphics, solid feel. We've had several Eastons, Sluggers, etc... and none had performed as the Voodoo has. It does take a stronger player to handle as its very end loaded, but as such, is a complete monster right out of the box...

Cons: Had for 2 months and none yet

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I am 14 and 5 foot 5 110 lbs. I am looking at this bat or the Easton S1. Which one would be best for me? I am normally a gap hitter. Whipped
If you are normally a gap hitter, either the DeMarini Voodoo or the Easton S1 would be a great choice for you. The main difference between the bats is the Voodoo has an alloy barrel and the S1 has a composite barrel. Both are great bats, and you really can't go wrong with either.
Jennifer
I'm looking at this bat and an XL3. Which would be best for a power hitter? tb
Both the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo and the Easton XL3 are great bats. However, if you are looking more for a power hitter, I would probably suggest going with the XL3. This is a one-piece bat with an end loaded feel that is great for power hitters.
Jennifer
What is the difference between the 2013 Voodoo and 2013 M2M?? mattycuevas
The Voodoo is a two piece bat with an alloy barrel with composite handle. The M2M is a two piece bat with an alloy barrel and alloy handle.
Tyler
I'm looking at this bat because I'm hoping it would add a little extra power behind my contact swing. Or, would you recomend that i go with an S1 instead? Aj 22
The S1 will have a slightly lighter swing weight than the Voodoo. If you are a contact hitter looking to increase swing speed for more power, the S1 may be a better choice.
Tyler
What's the difference between the 2012 and 2013 models besides the color? marcuise
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR is more stiff and end loaded than the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR. It also uses new X10 alloy for a stronger, more durable alloy barrel.
Kara
I saw that this bat just came out and i was wondering weather or not this bat would be better for me or the 2013 Nike Aero Fuse, i have to stay around $300 for a price, any suggestions? Im more of a contact hitter too Chris
Both the Voodoo and Aero Fuse are great bats. The Voodoo will have a little more of an end-loaded feel. If you are more of a contact hitter, I may lean towards the Aero Fuse as it will have a lighter swing weight.
Tyler
I am a 5' 9" and 140 lb contact hitter with some power. I'm looking for a fairly balanced bat with good pop. Is the Voodoo right for me? What other bats near the Voodoo's price range would be right for me? biggie
The Voodoo will have a slight end-loaded feel, but if you're a hitter with some power, it would definitely be a good option. Other bats similar to the Voodoo are the Easton XL2, Marucci Black, and Nike MC2. All would be excellent choices.
Tyler
I am a 5'7" 3rd baseman with a great swing. I have the Marucci Black right now and it seems to be loosing its pop fast. Is the Voodo better than the Marucci Black or Easton S1? O'Doyle
The Voodoo is very similar and will be just about the same as the Marucci Black. The Easton S1, however, has a composite barrel and not an alloy barrel like the Black or Voodoo. The S1 will require a break in, but will get better the more you use it.
Jennifer
Does this bat require any break-in period? Tubby Lumpkins
There is not a break in period for the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR. Only composite bats require a break in period.
Kara
Is this bat better for contact hitters or power hitters? yumad
Honestly, the Voodoo will be a great bat for either type of hitter. It has a two piece design that contact hitters often like and it has a slight endloaded feel that power hitters often like.
Tyler
I'm looking at the Demarini Voodoo but I don't know if I should get it or the new Demarini Vexxum. I'm about 5'1 and 100lbs and I'm more of a contact, line drive hitter, than a power hitter. Any suggestions? Nationals Baseball
Both are great bats. The Voodoo will have a little more of an end loaded feel compared to the Vexxum. If you have good swing speed and decent strength, the Voodoo may be a better option. If you do not think you have the strength and swing speed to handle the end loaded feel of Voodoo, then the Vexxum may be a better option.
Tyler
Does the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR have better pop than the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR? Zack
Both will use top of the line alloy and will have great pop. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR will feel more end loaded than the 2012 Voodoo.
Kara
I'm a gap to gap hitter who is 5'9" 160 lbs., and I am looking at trying to move up in size from a 32", would it be smart to jump straight to the 33" or go to a 32.5"? jrl0417
At 5'9" 160 lbs, moving right into a 33 inch model would be just fine. That is the recommended size for you and will not be too dramatic of a jump up.
Tyler
Hey, I am 5'8 and I am line drive and sometimes power hitter. I was wondering what to get, between the new Voodoo, CF5 and also the M2M. Thanks if you can help:) k-mac21
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo would be a great choice. The two piece, slightly end loaded construction, would be a great choice for a contact hitter with power. The CF5 is going to provide the most flex, and the M2M will be the stiffest out of all three bats.
Kara
My son is 13 years old, 5 foot 3 and weighs about 130 lbs. He plays in the Little League JR division. He is mostly a power hitter but has been in a slump the last few weeks, not even getting a hit. He wants the DeMarini Voodoo but is this the bat he should get or would a one-piece fit his style better? Whats the difference between the Voodoo and Vexxum? It has to be BBCOR either way. Billy
Most power hitters with quick bat speed prefer a one-piece bat and most contact hitters prefer a two-piece bat. Whether your son wants a one-piece bat or two-piece bat really comes down to his bat speed and what kind of hitter he is. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR bat has a slight end loaded feel to it and is a two-piece hybrid design. The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR bat is also a two-piece hybrid design but has a different type of composite in the handle compared to the DeMarini Voodoo. Please visit our Bat Compare tool to compare different bats on our website.
Austin
Which bat would be better for a contact hitter with some power, the Exogrid2, Voodoo, or the CF5? contact hitter
Two piece bats like the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo are preferred for contact hitters. Because the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo is end loaded it would be perfect for a contact hitter with power.
Kara
should i get yhr 2013 demarini or the easton oman garrett
Both are going to be great bats. The Voodoo is going to have a alloy barrel with a composite handle. It will have some of the best pop out of all the alloy barreled bats on the market. This bat will also have great durability.
Carter
Which bat would be for a 5ft 7in contact hitter with power? This one the Marrucci Black or the Vertex? fury556
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo is a two piece bat that is slightly end loaded, perfect for a contact hitter with power.
Kara
People are saying this bat is a little end loaded, I'm a contact hitter and my first year of high school is next year. I want a bat that has great pop but won't be to heavy to slow down my swing. Would the CF5 be a better choice for me? aaronader
If you are looking for a balanced bat, then the DeMarini CF5 would be a great choice for you to consider. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo does have a slight end loaded feel to it, so if you are not used to this kind of bat it will take some getting used to.
Jennifer
I need a top heavy bat so im wondering if this would be a god choice? ChiliPepper
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult has a slight end load, making it a good choice if you are looking for something a little top heavy.
Zach
Which is a more balanced bat between the Demarini Voodoo and the Rip-It Prototype II? BH
The are actually both end loaded. The only difference is the Rip-It is a one piece and the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR is a two-piece.
Kara
For a contact hitter should I use this or the 2013 Nike MC2? Jawn
Either the DeMarini Voodoo or the Nike MC2 would be a great choice for a contact hitter. Since both bats are two-piece bats, you can't really go wrong with either.
Jennifer
I'm a contact hitter weighing 130 lbs and am 5'5. With 300 dollars would a choice of the 2013 Voodoo or 2012 CF5 be better for me? What weight do you feel is appropriate as well? Thomas
Based on your height and weight, I would probably suggest going with a 31-32 inch bat. Also, since both the Voodoo and the CF5 are two-piece bats, either one would be a great option for a contact hitter.
Jennifer
Differences between the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo and the 2012 version? Thanks Ricky
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo was made with an updated alloy material and has a slight end loaded feel to it. Other than that, it is just a newer bat with newer graphics.
Jennifer
Would this be a good bat for a power hitter? If not, what DeMarini would be for me? Bronson
Normally end loaded bats like the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR are suitable for power hitters.
Kara
Are all BBCOR bats slightly top heavy? andy
There are some BBCOR bats that are slightly top heavy, but there are a number of BBCOR bats that are balanced and not top heavy.
Tom
I don't have the fastest swing. I am debating between the Voodoo and the Rawlings 5150 Velo. What should I do for more of a linedrive contact hitter? CODY
Either the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult or the Rawlings 5150 Velo would be great for a contact hitter due to their balanced swing weight.
Zach
What is better for -3 the Voodoo 2013 or the CF5 2013? logan
This really depends on the type of hitter you are. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR will be more end loaded than the CF5 BBCOR. If you have some power, we recommend the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR.
Kara
My club team is making us switch to BBCOR and I am 12 years old 5 foot 1 and 106lb. I prefer an end loaded feel and can hit for power or for contact. Would the 2013 Voodoo be a good choice and should I stay with a 32 inch? Ironamn
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo is slightly end loaded, perfect for a contact hitter with power. We would recommend a 31" Voodoo.
Kara
I've swung the 2012 model of the Voodoo and it didn't really feel that end loaded. I'm a contact hitter, but I found that anywhere I hit on the Voodoo it had amazing pop. Is this bat more end loaded then the 2012 model though? And would it slow someone's swing down by a lot or just a little bit compared to the CF5? I like the Vodoo better though. Aaronader
The new 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR is more end loaded than the 2012 Voodoo and the CF5. I should not slow your swing down significantly.
Kara
I'm trying to buy a new bat, and I was trying to decide whether or not to go with the 2013 CF5, or Voodoo. I am more of a power hitter and I wanted to know if the CF5 would be better than the Voodoo. TI
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo is an end loaded bat, better suited for a power hitter. The DeMarini CF5 is more balanced.
Kara
I am a contact lead-off hitter, and I don't really have any power. I had the 2012 voodoo and it had the perfect end load for me but was almost too much. Is this 2013 model for me or not? Connor G
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR is more end loaded than the 2012 model. The end load will most likely be too much for you in the 2013 model.
Kara
I'm more of a balanced hitter... I can hit home runs but get mostly line drive singles or doubles.. 2012 DeMarini Voodoo or 2013 DeMarini Voodoo EB
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo and the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo feature different aluminum in the barrel and different composite material in the handle. Here is a link to compare the different models. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
Will the 2013 voodoo be marked down next year like the 2012 voodoo was this year? Ajay
Yes. When DeMarini comes out with their 2014 line next summer, the 2013 models should reduce in price.
Tyler
i am 13 years old 5 foot 3 and 105 pounds what size bat should i get? im getting the 2013 voodoo AJ
If you are looking for a -3 BBCOR bat, I would recommend a 30" 27oz for a player of your size.
Nick D
Should I just buy the 2012 version for less, or does the 2013 have advantages? ry
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo has new X10 alloy in the barrel and TR3 F.L.O. composite in the handle. Here is a link to further compare the two models of the DeMarini Voodoo.
Tom
I am a contact hitter with not much power. Is the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR better for me or is the 2013 CF5 BBCOR? cole
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 is a two piece composite and will be more balanced for a contact hitter than the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo.
Damon
I am 15 years old, 5'8", 130 lbs, and I hit lead off. I don't have that much power, but I am working on it. I can hit gap shots but mostly singles. I have the Louisville Slugger Z-1000. Which bat would be the best for me? The Easton S1, DeMarini Voodoo, or the Z-1000? Cayce
The S1 or the Z-1000 would both be good choices for you, because they both have a balanced swing weight. The S1 is probably the best choice though, because its two-piece design will better suit a contact and gap to gap hitters.
Nick D
I am 14, going into 8th grade, 5'4" and weigh around 164 lbs. When I connect with the ball it flies but I am still working on my swing. Is the Voodoo 31/26 correct for me? E
Yes the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVD5 would be a great fit for you. You will need to get a new bat once you get into high school because you have to a BBCOR certified bat which will have a -3 length to weight ratio.
Tom
Hi, I am 15 years old, going into 10th grade , I am 185lbs and 5'8, I am also a line driver hitter with some power, would this bat be right for me? And what size? I also need to work on my bat speed Aman
I would recommend a 33" bat for a player of your size. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC is endloaded making it more geared for a power hitter. Because you are more of a line drive hitter, you should consider the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo or the 2012 or 2013 DeMarini CF5. Those bats won't be endloaded.
Nick D
Could you please describe in detail what type of hitter this bat is fit for? Adam
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR is an end loaded two-piece bat. Best suited for a contact hitter with power.
Kara
How is the bat weighted? twin falls all stars
The 2013 Demarini Voodoo BBCOR will have a slight end loaded feel to it. The 2013 DXVDC will be most appropriate for players looking for some extra power behind their swing.
Shelbe
What is the difference from this years model as to last years? joe
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo features new TR3 F.L.O. Composite in the handle and X10 Alloy in the barrel. Here is a link to further compare the two models. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
I am 16 years old, 5'7" tall and weigh about 165 lbs. I am more of a contact hitter, but I can also hit for power. What bat do you think I should swing? joe
If you are more of a contact hitter and you like DeMarini's I would go with the 2013 DeMarini CF5 because it is more balanced and will also have great pop if you have some power.
Damon
Which is better for hitting for both contact and power? The DeMarini CF5 or the DeMarini Voodoo? Coonnoor
The DeMarini CF5 and the DeMarini Voodoo will both allow you to hit for average and power. The CF5 is a two-piece fully composite bat and the Voodoo is a two-piece hybrid design. Here is a link to further compare the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
Which baseball bat is better the 2012 Voodoo or the 2013 Voodoo? The Hammer
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR and the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR are excellent bats. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR uses newer technology for better durability and performance. However, it is slightly end loaded.
Kara
I just got this bat how can I prolong the life of my new bat? Chase13
Our Bat Resource Guide has some helpful information: http://www.justbats.com/bat-resource-guide/bat-care/
Tyler
Would this be a good bat for a contact hitter going into middle and high school? Lilman
The 2013 Voodoo has a slight endload feel, great for players with good swing speed. If you have average or below average swing speed, the DeMarini Vexxum may be a better choice.
Tyler
since the voodoo has TR3 F.L.O. Composite in the handle does that give it more of a stiff handle and trampoline effect? with less flex? Which DeMarini has the least flex? jmoney
The composite handle in the DeMarini Voodoo will make the handle stiff and help to give it more pop. All the two-piece DeMarini bats will have similar flex.
Damon
The guy who reviewed the bat in the video said it was re-certified what does this mean? Aaron
In the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR video Ryan was just making sure to highlight that this 2013 model of the DXVDC was re-certified to meet the BBCOR certification standards. The construction defers a bit from the 2012 model.
Shelbe
Since this bat is a stiff hybrid does that mean its a lot stiffer than the other bats in DeMarini's 2013 line? kanye
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR and the DeMarini M2M BBCOR will be the stiffest two-piece bats in DeMarini's 2013 line.
Kara
Im 15,5'8, and 160 pounds. What size bat should I get? Jonny
Based on your height and weight, a 32" BBCOR model is recommended.
Tyler
Is this the same bat as the Black one, or is it just a different color? Tylor
The 2013 is basically the same model as the 2012 with a new paint scheme. They do generally try to work on durabilty and pop from year to year, but biggest change is paint scheme.
Derek
I'm 6'3 210 and hit for power. Is this bat right for me? bo
Bats that are end loaded like the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo would be great for a power hitter.
Kara
Is the 2013 Voodoo more top heavy than the 2012 Voodoo? Which one would I be able to generate more bat speed with? brendan
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR is more end loaded than the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR. The 2012 Voodoo would generate more bat speed.
Kara
My son is 13yrs old- approximately 105 lbs, 5'5 or so. Pretty strong kid. I think they say he needs 31 in for size and at 14 the regulations are for -5 bat. He is not a huge power hitter but definately base hitter and looking for a bat that will give him extra power/pop. What would you recommend? Composite? Anything else that will help us in bat selection? He was used to hitting with a -8 so I'm a little worried about going to -5. Thanks Angela
For bats, with a -5 length to weight ratio, the Marucci CAT5 PREBCOR would have the most even weight distribution which would make the bat feel lighter. The highest performing bats with a -5 length to would be the DeMarini Voodoo, Easton XL series, the Anderson NanoTek, or the Metalstorm White Dragon.
Tom
my son is 5 9 140 hes more of a singles hitter or contact hitter. Is this bat right for him? Scott Krzykowski
The Voodoo has a slight endload to it. For a player with average to below average swing speed and strength, it may not be the best option. A similar bat with a lighter swing weight is the Easton S2.
Tyler
Does this voodoo swing any lighter than last years or is it still pretty heavy? Kim
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo will be very similar in swing weight to last years model.
Damon
im 16 years old 5'8'' 155 lbs going into my sophomore season. i normally bat 4th or 5th so i have good power and a fast swing speed. would you say that the voodoo 2013 is good for me or would you recommend something else that would suit me better? BCP15
2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat has a slight endloaded feel which makes it a great choice for stronger hitters. It would be an excellent option for you.
Tyler
I'm 13 and 5'9 and 133 lbs. I hit 2 with contact and some power. What size would fit me best? G$
Based on your height and weight, a 32" model would be recommended.
Tyler
In my first year using a drop 3 what bat would be better. The 2013 voodoo or the 2013 CF5? NC555
The 2013 CF5 is the most balanced, better for a player making the transition to a BBCOR bat.
Kara
My son is 6' 1" and weighs 150 lbs. He has a quick swing. Last year he used a 31" 28 oz. and now needs a bigger bat. Should he transition to a 32" or move up to a 33"? Michael Rosenberg
The recommended size for his height and weight is a 33" 30 oz. BBCOR DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDC.
Aubrey
My son is 5'10" and 160 pounds. He's only 14 and is growing stronger and more muscular because he works out daily. He has a killer swing, hitting "outta the park" ers every other game. Which size would you suggest for him? Shari
Based on his size, a 32" Adult BBCOR model is recommended.
Tyler
My son is about to turn 13 this weekend. He is a big boy 5'10" and 165 lbs. Currently using EXOGRID2 32" drop 5. He really wants a BBCOR bat and loves the Voodoo although he has never swung one. What do you think about a kid getting a jump on BBCOR and going from drop 5 to drop 3? Brad
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo is slightly end loaded, and might be a bit heavy for a player making the transition to a BBCOR bat. We recommend the 2013 DeMarini CF5. It will be more balanced like the EXOGRID2.
Kara
What is the price going to be of two of these bats in a bat pack? G
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC won't be eligible for a bat pack until next year. I would recommend contacting us again next spring or summer.
Tyler
How would you compare this bat to the RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Air for the performance and price? Jared
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR and the 2013 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Air will be very high performing. However, the RIP-IT will be more stiff and balanced than the DeMarini Voodoo.
Kara
Is this the most top heavy of the bbcor demarini bats and if not which one is? sean
Out of all the 2013 DeMarini BBCOR bats, I would say the Voodoo will feel the most endloaded.
Tyler
Is the 2012 model the same except for graphics Ab 10
There were no major changes to the Voodoo model. Demarini of course works on durability and pop off the bat from year to year, but the paint scheme is the biggest change. Here is the link to view more details on the 2013 Voodoo. http://www.justbats.com/product/2013-demarini-voodoo-bbcor--dxvdc-adult/15470/
Derek
What is the difference between the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo and the 2012 model? hitters4
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo uses upgraded alloy for added performance and durability compared to the 2012 model.
Nick
Would you rather have the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo or DeMarini CF5? Rmelt19
Both bats will be extremely high performing. The main difference is DeMarini Voodoo will be a two-piece hybrid design, whereas the DeMarini CF5 will be a two-piece fully composite bat. Another important factor to consider is the DeMarini Voodoo will be end loaded and the 2013 DeMarini CF5 will be a balanced model.
Tom
What is the difference, besides color, between this bat and the Limited Edition Voodoo? g
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR and the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Limited Edition are the same bat. The only difference is the color scheme and paint job.
Nick
Would this bat or the Omaha Balanced be better suited for a power hitter? Aidan
The Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha is going to be a one-piece bat which is preferred by power hitters, but the DeMarini Voodoo is an end loaded, which is also preferred by power hitters.
Noah
Which do you recommend for a 15 yr. 6'150 lb. power hitter that hits better with a wood bat- new CF5 or new Voodoo? k
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC is an end loaded bat, better suited for a power hitter. The 2013 CF5 is more balanced, better for suited for a player that needs bat speed.
Kara
Since the CF5 has a better bat swing compared to the Voodoo, would it give a power hitter more pop off his bat since he's swinging harder? 4holehitter
An end loaded bat like the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC would generate more power.
Kara
Hello. I'm 15, about 5'9 and 140. Would you recommend a 32/29 or a 33/30? Also, what is better between the DeMarini Voodoo and the Easton S1? Thanks! KD3
Based on your height and weight we recommend a 32" bat. Both the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult and the Easton S1 have great pop. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult will be more end loaded and stiffer than the Easton S1. The Easton S1 is very balanced and provides a lot of flex. The Voodoo will be hot out of the wrapper and the Easton S1 will require a break-in period.
Kara
I'm a collegiate player at the D1 level. My wood just broke and I need a new one. Any recommendations on a wood bat that resembles the same weight balance as the Voodoo? DavisPlayer
The DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Bat: DX243 Adult will feel very similar to the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult. It is slightly end loaded like the Voodoo.
Kara
Hi! What is the difference between the 2012 Voodoo and the 2013? bigbomb
The 2013 model features a new TR3 F.L.O. composite handle that is stronger and more durable than the 2012 model.
Tyler
Hi! What is the difference between the 2012 Voodoo and the 2013? bigbomb
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo uses a higher grade of alloy that will add more durability compared to the 2012 Voodoo.
Aubrey
Hi! my son is interested in this bat and I am planning on getting it for him. I need to know what size. He is 5'6" and about 135-140 pounds. He works out a lot and doesn't have any fat so he is very strong. His hitting instructor said if he can swing a 33" he should, but if he can't, then not to. He has used both a 33" and a 32" and did well with both. He felt more comfortable with the extra inch on the 33". Keep in mind he is very strong and can get around with both. christmas shopping
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat is a great model. This bat does have an end loaded swing weight to it. It will feel barrel heavy. Power hitters tend to love this bat. If he has never swung an end loaded bat before I would buy the 32". If he has, and is familiar with the swing weight and feel then you could bump it up to the 33". Using the Bat Coach feature on www.JustBats.com I was able to determine that at his height and weight a 31"-32" was recommended. Since it sounds like he can create his own bat speed then going up to the 33" should not be a problem. Just make sure he is familiar with the Voodoo's end loaded feel.
Brandon
Do I have to break in the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR bat? jcbaseball
No. The DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR has an alloy barrel so it will not require break-in.
Damon
How does the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo rate when it comes to pop, end load, and break in time compared to the 2011 DeMarini white Voodoo, or the DeMarini 2012 black Voodoo? car car
All three DeMarini models will have a slight endload. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo DXVDC has a higher quality X10 alloy and a higher quality TR3 F.L.O composite handle for better durability. The Voodoo's have alloy barrel so no break-in time is required.
Damon
is there any 2013 limited edition voodoo bats left? josh
Please see model; 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Limited Edition: DXVDC.
Tyler
What are the main differences between this model and the 2012 one? Gabe
The main difference between the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat and the 2012 model will be the composite in the handle. The composite handle will be updated to eliminate more vibration that may have been reaching the hitter's hands. The alloy barrel and swing weight will feel the same. Also, the color scheme will be different.
Brandon
Hey, I am debating on whether I should get this bat, or the 2013 Cf5. I am more of a power hitter. So which bat do you recommend? Eho
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat would be more beneficial to a power hitter that can create his own bat speed. If you need any help with swing velocity go with the CF5. Otherwise, the 2013 Voodoo sounds like the choice for you. It will feature that barrel heavy, end load that the power hitters love. Plus, the all alloy barrel will not require any sort of break-in period.
Brandon
I am a 6 foot 185 pound college 3B with above average bat speed. I have good pop, but am considered a strong gap hitter not a power hitter. Would voodoo or cf5 be a better bat for me? Ty
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult and the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult are going to perform very similar. The Half and Half Technology in both bats will make you more powerful.
Frank
Im a 240lb 6ft high school baseball player and have the strength to put the ball over any feild is the 2013 voodoo the right choice? Mavenator3000
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult is a two-piece bat that is slightly end-loaded, so it would be a great choice for you.
Marcus
I'm stuck between the Voodoo and the RIP-IT Air. I know they are both great bats, but I have heard that the RIP-IT has broken a lot in last years model. I wonder if this years will do the same, especially since I live in upper PA. Thanks! NMoney
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat and the 2013 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR AIR: B1303A Adult bat will perform equally. Any composite or alloy bat will be at increased risk of breaking in temperatures below 55 degrees.
Robert
What are the engineering differences between the 2012 and 2013 DeMarini Voodoo? Austin
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult was made with higher grade alloy and composite materials than those used in the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR bat.
Marcus
What will be the best bat for a power hitter this year? What bat do you recommend for a power hitter? John
The Easton XL1 is going to be one of the best bats for a power hitter, because of its full end load. I recommend power hitters using either a one-piece or an end loaded bat.
Noah
When will the price be reduced? G
The price on the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult will probably drop sometime around the 2013 winter.
Noah
Is the DeMarini Voodoo -5 BBCOR approved? Will I be able to use it in high school? Danny
The -5 DeMarini Voodoo is not BBCOR certified, so you will not be able to use it in high school play. All BBCOR certified bats are -3.
Marcus
I'm 14, 120 pounds, and going into high school baseball. Do you think this would be to heavy? Danny
2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult should be fine for you. What I recommend is taking some dry swings first to get a feel for the bat.
Noah
I was going to get the Voodoo, but now I'm starting looking at the CF5. What are the differences between the two? the hitter
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle that is going to feel slightly end loaded. The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult is a two-piece, fully composite bat that is going to feel evenly weighted throughout.
Marcus

The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult is an end loaded bat.
Katie
Is the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult or 2013 DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR: DXVNC Adult more balanced? Spadz
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC bat will have a slightly end loaded swing weight. It will be preferred by a power hitter while the 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVNC is more balanced for a contact hitter.
Mac
Is this bat heavier or more balanced than the 2012 model? NJ
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult is going to have a slightly end loaded feel - just like the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR model.
Marcus
I have the CF5 and was a doubles and triples guy last season, I've put on 25 pounds in the offseason and trying to turn those doubles into homeruns, would this bat make enough of a difference from the CF5 to buy it? TC
The end load design of the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC would best suite someone with above average swing speeds. If your bat speed has increased along with the mass increase, they you could justify making the switch.
Mac
Why was the price dropped? LB
The price of the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC was lowered because the 2014 models are about to hit the market. This is a common practice for all retail outlets to make room for the new models getting ready to come out.
Tyler

The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult does not require a break-in period.

Marcus
What's the difference between this bat and the limited edition Voodoo? I'm also interested in the limited edition Voodoo and the 2013 CF5. Which is better for power hitter? I'm 5'7" and weigh 190 lbs. Eagle13
The Limited Edition Voodoo has a different paint job compared to the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC, but everything else is the same. The Voodoo is more endloaded than the CF5 and typically, power hitters prefer a more endloaded bat.
Tyler
If I am a smaller player (about 5'3 115) is this bat right for me? If not, which bat should I use? Smalls
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult should be perfect for you. It does have a slight end load though, so if you want more of a balanced hybrid bat try the Easton S2.
Noah
I just had the 2012 Voodoo and am looking to get either get this bat or the 2013 DeMarini CF5. I'm 6'4" and like a lot of pop but also like very balance. j
If you are a power hitter I would go with the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult. If you are more of a contact line drive hitter I would go with the 2013 DeMarini CF5.
Chad M.

The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult has an alloy barrel, so it does not require a break-in period.

Brandon
What is the difference between this bat and the 2012 Black Voodoo model? Randall
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult used a completely new composite and alloy. The 2013 uses a TR3 F.L.O Composite handle and a X10 Alloy barrel, while the 2012 uses a SC4 Alloy barrel and a TR3 Strut Composite handle.

Damon
Will bats with alloy material in the barrel have a better chance of breaking when used in lower temperatures? If so, what temperature is the lowest you would recommend me to use it. Are composite bats the same? Dbl D
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult would be fine to use in cold temperatures, because alloy barreled bats hold up much better in the cold than composite barreled bats do. I do not recommend using composite bats in temperatures below 55 degrees.
Noah

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
