Finding the right shade of warm gray or greige can be hard. Between undertones, depths, and subtle nuances, picking the best neutral for your space needs to be done carefully. This is why I’m glad you’re here, learning more about the best paint colors on the market, including this bad boy.

WHAT TYPE OF COLOR IS JOGGING PATH?

Jogging Path might try to lead you down the wrong path with its gray base, but don’t be fooled—it’s a GREIGE, which makes it a warm paint color.

Being a warm neutral, Jogging Path can be gorgeous in cool north-facing rooms, as its warmth can help balance uninviting natural light. However, it’s not so warm that it leaves you all hot and sweaty in a south-facing room or one with afternoon western sunshine.

Jogging Path is beautiful with some wood stains! This exposure is likely northern.

However, no matter your room’s exposure, if you don’t have enough natural light, be careful when using Jogging Path.

WHAT’S THE LRV OF JOGGING PATH?

Jogging Path has an LRV of 47, so it’s tucked nicely in the light-medium range. However, because of its slightly lower LRV (compared to lighter, popular shades of greige), Jogging Path can look heavy in rooms without enough natural light. This depth is compounded by its earthy undertone, leaving your walls slightly muddy or dingy.

WHAT ARE JOGGING PATH’S UNDERTONES?

You’ll want to tread carefully with Jogging Path, as it’s not messing around with its undertone—and it’s GREEN. This undertone will never disappear, but it isn’t SO strong that it takes over. Although that can be open to perception, as if you are green-sensitive, it will push you over your boundaries, I’m sure.

• Sherwin Williams Alabaster is okay but will look that BIT more yellow against Jogging Path’s undertones.

DOES JOGGING PATH LOOK GOOD AS AN EXTERIOR COLOR?

Jogging Path isn’t a popular exterior paint color, but this doesn’t mean it won’t work for you and your home. Its slightly lower LRV helps it stand up to bright light, but watch that green undertone and make sure it suits your roof, brick, or any stonework.

This next home has a reasonable amount of shade on its front porch. Notice how Jogging Path settles a bit more like a warm gray and a bit darker than expected.

I would say this is an exception, not a rule, with the Jogging Path. On exteriors, you can expect it to look warmer and lighter—especially if your home gets southern sun!

WILL IT WORK ON KITCHEN CABINETS?

If you want an earthy and organic kitchen palette, Jogging Path could be a pretty choice. Its depth makes it easier to find coordinating wall colors, and its undertones can add interest compared to other, more muted neutral shades (although they’re just as pretty!).
