Born in The Hague, Tais Teng is a Dutch artist who drew for several alternative and science fiction comic magazines in the 1970s, such as Belhamel ('2064', 1971), SF Magazine ('In de Tuinen van de Oorlog', 1972), Count Down ('Giguna', 1972), SF Gids ('Eyurid'), Essef ('Dromers en Ballingen', 'De Stalen Horde') and Krak ('869251392478 A.D.'). During this period, he also illustrated covers for SF books. Among his main graphic influences are Richard Corben and Philippe Druillet.
Teng later became a writer of scary children's books, such as the series 'De Griezelklas', as well as books in the sci-fi genre.
