Important Information
Status updates on all Technology Services can be found on GW status.
GW IT is a trusted partner, enabling the delivery of world-class education, research, and clinical care by providing an efficient, scalable, and secure digital experience to faculty, students, and staff.
Law School Email - It is very important that you are able to check your law school email account (@law.gwu.edu). Announcements regarding classes and events are frequently sent your law school email account (@law.gwu.edu) prior to the beginning of the semester. We recommend that you forward your @gwu.edu email to your @law.gwu.edu email. Here are Gmail forwarding instructions.
Canvas - GW Law uses Canvas as its LMS (Learning Management System). Each course has a site on the LMS, which includes information about the professor, course overview and policies, course materials, and course assignments. Course sites can be accessed from the MyLaw Portal or by using the 9-Dot Google Apps menu in your Law School email.
MyLaw - The MyLaw Portal is an information and communication platform that is used by law school departments and professors to distribute information. This is also where you will find your Canvas course sites, the Law School Directory, and Space Reservation System. Access to the MyLaw Portal is either via the link on the Law School's website, using the 9-Dot Google Apps menu in your Law School email, or by visiting my.law.gwu.edu.
GWID - For certain logins, services and transactions at GW, you will be asked to provide your GWID. This is a 9-character identifier beginning with a G that is part of your GW Identity. The admissions office has provided you with this information.
Exam4 - Exam4 is a secure exam delivery platform used to administer all in-class exams. Students will bring a laptop device to the exam with the Exam4 software installed and receive a hard copy of the exam questions in the room. Each exam will include specific instructions. Information regarding the operating system compatibilities and other common issues can be found on the Exam4 website. Information regarding the current exam window can be found on the Records Office website.
Wireless - When you are on campus you can use the wireless configuration utility on your specific device to connect to the internet. The name of the wireless network is Eduroam. Most devices will simply ask you to provide your UserID and password to connect.
Software - Select software and business apps are available to all students at GW. A list with download information is available on the GW Information Technology website.
Printing - The Law School participates in GW Printing (WEPA), a pay for print service with many locations in the school and on campus.
