Multiple-vehicle accident briefly closes Route 22 (PHOTOS)

A multiple-vehicle crash Friday afternoon closed Route 22 West at 25th Street in Palmer Township.

It was reported about 3:40 p.m.

An SUV ended up facing the wrong direction and had collided with the front of a tractor-trailer. A pickup truck rear-ended the tractor-trailer.

No one was seriously hurt, township police said.

The vehicles were removed and the road was reopened by 4:30 p.m.

The crash was one of many in the Lehigh Valley region Friday afternoon.

Another one, reported just before 4 p.m. on Interstate 78 West just west of Route 33 in Lower Saucon Township, was slowing traffic, a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation camera showed.
