Dr Stone Season 4 Episode 2 Recap
This episode opens with an example of Senku’s creativity, which is crafting alcohol in the Stone Age using only wheat. Drawing upon ancient Egyptian brewing techniques, he roasts soaked wheat and then utilizes fermentation to produce beer. This creation proves immensely popular with the group, and for those who prefer non-alcoholic beverages, Francois provides a selection of mocktails.
The episode also showcases Senku’s resourcefulness in creating gum syrup using unconventional and potentially dangerous materials, including sulfuric acid and barium carbonate. His ability to apply scientific knowledge to achieve seemingly impossible feats continues to gobsmack us and his friends.
The narrative further explores the mysterious “master” frequently mentioned by Matsukaze, revealing a striking resemblance to Kinro. A significant new character, Hyoga, is introduced, but his assistance comes with conditions.
Given the unknown threats that lie ahead, Senku and his team recognize the need for more skilled fighters. Hyoga’s involvement becomes vital, and if he can train Matsukaze, it will strengthen their chances for the mission ahead. One of the most impressive moments in the episode showcases Senku’s brilliance as he determines their exact location using only the periodic time updates sent by Ruri.

Dr Stone Season 4 Episode 3 Review And Recap
Today’s episode is the part where things are finally taking off and becoming serious. Senku and his gang have finally reached America, and everyone’s reaction is pretty hilarious. They are not that impressed because obviously all the important landmarks that America had have been covered by vegetation, and it looks like Japan only to them. But, here, they also get a reality check when they see many people as statues scattered everywhere. They realize how humanity has been struggling for all these years, and Senku reestablishes that he will save each and every one, without leaving any.
Then, they travelled through the Sacramento River and established that along the way, they would be able to see cornfields. But before they could locate any corn, they were already getting threatened by the wildlife that has now found a home in the area. But we cannot forget that Senku has some of the best fighters alive, and it should not be a problem for him to defeat animals. However, animals are not the real threat in this world, humans are.
This statement becomes an absolute reality when we see the presence of another antagonistic figure in this episode. On top of that, his acts hint at a wild man who can easily take down a pack of wolves. But things become especially bad for our protagonists when this mysterious figure starts to use humanity’s strongest weapon, which is guns.
Today’s episode started off pretty lighthearted but ended on a very tense note. If someone had a gun in this Stone Age, then they automatically had more advantages than Senku and his group. How Senku will manage to get past this is something that we must see.
Verdict
I absolutely loved today’s episode and the concept that there might be another scientist or intelligent being like Senku but on the dark side. This person might not want to wake up humanity and might disrupt Senku and his team. Hopefully, we will get more answers in the next episode.
