Once Upon A Star is a love letter to Thailand’s golden era of cinema and comedy. The plot is set in the ’60s and follows a Traveling Pharma-Cinema Unit that brings live-dubbed 16mm movies to villages and small towns across Thailand. The crew announces and invites everyone in the village to see the movie. During crucial moments in the shows, they switch roles to sell pharmaceutical products before resuming the movies.

Here, he first faces the issue that people didn’t like the way he dubbed the female part and that he needed an experienced female dub artist. He then hires a female for it, and they continue to tour together. They use microphones to provide a live dubbed soundtrack to entertain the locals, and they are very happy with their work.

However, when Lom Pha Travelling Cinema arrives, which has more modern equipment, it takes all of the customers of the Pharma-Cinema Unit. Their journey is filled with challenges and deceit as they pursue their dreams. They decide to fight for their dream and keep practising to get better at dubbing.
