This is a FULLY REMOTE position for anyone living in (or willing to relocate to) Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, or Arkansas. Each Resource Specialist covers a multi-state area of responsibility and must live in the region that they cover to allow for in-person relationship building, increased knowledge of location-specific resources, and ease of access to travel throughout the region. Child Sex Trafficking Recovery Services Team, Resource Specialist I GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Survivors of child sex trafficking (CST) have experienced significant trauma. Advanced recovery planning and specialized resource coordination can mitigate challenges, streamline resources and allow for coordinated, trauma-informed interventions. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) is uniquely situated to provide guidance and technical assistance to inform local multi-disciplinary recovery efforts with our knowledge of missing children and CyberTipline reports concerning child sex trafficking. Resource Specialists on the CST Recovery Services Team provide specialized support, training and technical assistance to child welfare professionals and other multidisciplinary team members around developing trauma-informed and victim centered recovery plans for children missing from care who are likely victims of child sex trafficking. Resource Specialists provide psychoeducation and coaching around child sex trafficking, complex trauma responses, strategies for engagement, safety planning, and understanding running behavior. This team has established and maintains a national network of specialized child sex trafficking contacts and resources to support child welfare workers and local multi-disciplinary response efforts.
