Why Aerotek?

As I sit here reflecting on my recent one-year anniversary with Aerotek, I couldn't help but to share a part of my journey along with all that has gotten me to this point of my short yet adventurous career.

To say the least, 2020 is a year that none of us will forget. It was filled with unprecedented challenges for all. Entering 2020, it seemed to be like any other year; flipping the page and excelling into a new decade with aspirations of accomplishing various life-changing goals. I had been mentally searching for what direction I wanted to take in my professional career, and after a hard fought internal battle with myself I had realized the best course of action to take was to pursue a career that provided unlimited opportunity to progress towards a sales career. Referred from a friend, I was more than excited to begin my career with Aerotek as a Recruiter. After meeting the team and shadowing during my interview process, I thought to myself "This is the type of culture I want to surround myself with". Fast forward two months and we would be struck with the notorious COVID-19 pandemic, reborn social injustice, natural disasters, and various events that left our society wondering if our world will ever be the same. In the midst of the pandemic, I was imbedded with the thoughts of "Will I ever be able to hit my goals?", "Can this stunt my growth as a recruiter?", and most importantly "How will I be able to succeed?".

Like most, I was unsure how I was going to professionally and personally recover from these events, until I came to the realization of what it took to overcome such adversity; my character. I realized having the right character included adapting to change, accepting failure, continuing to learn from failure, participating in a feedback-rich environment, and most importantly, continuing to grow. All of the components above stem from what I have learned thus far as an employee of Aerotek. This company continues to prove they are invested in each and every one of their employees, from 15+ year veterans to week 1 recruiters. If it were not for the culture, opportunity, and personal investment this company has provided to me thus far, I would be right back at that time of my early career, battling those inner thoughts of not knowing what direction to take.
