Position Overview:

Department: Sales Support

Employment Type: Salary Exempt

Hours: 8:00-4:30 with a half hour lunch

Base Salary: $45,000 – $50,000 commensurate with experience

We are seeking a qualified and motivated individual to perform a variety of Engineering related duties under the direction of the Director of Engineering. Must be highly organized and detail oriented with a willingness to learn.

Position Summary:

The Project Estimator is responsible for the review of project documents and the establishment of project list pricing and bill of materials. The estimator will assure the specifications are met in the configuring of the items and verify counts and include accessories as required to properly build a build of material for the projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate bill of materials estimate based on specifications and project drawings, including layouts and elevational descriptions.
  • Review project specifications and contact necessary individuals to resolve questions and irregularities within the project specifications.
  • Work closely with the account managers/customers when their assistance is required to perform and/or complete any of the above duties or objectives.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients through regular communication and exceptional service.
  • Gather feedback from clients to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associates degree preferred in Business Administration or Construction Management.
  • Experience: Previous experience in sales support/estimating, reading blueprints and specifications.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong aptitude to be results-driven.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Applications (Google Sheets).
    • Dodge construction or construction bid software experience a plus.
    • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

  • The position is office-based.
  • May require working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Will work closely with engineering and sales support departments.

  • Reports to the Director of Sales Support

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review of product specifications as outlined in customer orders.
  • Prepare design drawings for necessary new component parts and revise and update submission drawings regarding material notes and layout of product.
  • Prepare the bill of material for all component parts from raw materials through finished goods.
  • Prepare general routings for parts and paint routings on catalog numbers.
  • Perform special assignments and projects as directed by the Director of Engineering.
  • Verification and checking of orders for completeness and accuracy as entered.

Qualified individuals must possess the following:

  • A high school diploma or associates degree with specific emphasis on coursework in drafting, and math through trigonometry.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Proficient in AutoCAD LT (3 years)
  • Ability to work with all levels of people, collaborate and remain calm and professional
  • A willingness to learn and work overtime when required

Salary range $55K to $70K per year, medical, dental and vision insurance, company provided life insurance with optional additional life insurance, short term and long term disability insurance, 401K with company match, vacation plus 9 paid holidays, casual workplace.

Job Summary

This position supervises and coordinates activities and assures productivity of warehouse workers in areas of shipping orders. The person in this position must possess good verbal and written communication skills.

Reports To

Shipping Supervisor

Specific Duties

  • Ensure that 100% of work to be shipped each day is shipped and identify 100% of work that will reach shipping the next day.
  • 100% of work to be shipped is organized, labeled, and staged in the designated staging area. Work up-stream to identify what will be needed for upcoming shipments such that there are no delays in shipping the finished product.
  • Communicate sensitive shipping instructions and time frames with relevant parties, including when schedule changes with internal and external customers.
  • Ensure all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and timely according to procedures.
  • Requires a flexible work schedule, which may include weekends to support operating schedules and the needs of the facility.
  • Build relationships with Inventory Manager and other departments to facilitate a smooth operational flow for all shipping activities.
  • Ensure that tasks are performed in a safe manner.
  • Trains employees to perform operation or task to which they must be assigned.
  • Advises employees on care of equipment in handling, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
  • Reviews orders for accuracy of buildable materials.
  • Participates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.
  • Cooperates with other management personnel in formulating, carrying out and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
  • Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
  • Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and Manager’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
  • Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate Manager and Human Resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as to the best of own ability.
  • Responsible for reviewing the performance for each employee.

Managerial and Supervisory Responsibility

  • Directly leads personnel that are assigned to that area.

Position Qualifications

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent is required. Preferred to have advanced courses in supervisory skills or supervisory experience.
  • Must be familiar with the set up and operation of all of the type of equipment used in the assigned area.
  • Must be available to work on Saturdays.

Career Path – Typical previous positions might include: Group Leader or Production Supervisor in an outside organization.

This is a hourly position with an hourly rate of $21/hr-$24/hr
