CHAT Program Manager

CHAT Program Manager

Job Type: Full-time
Reports to: Director of CHAT
Manages: Project Facilitators (2) and Community Outreach Coordinator
Status: Exempt, Full-Time
Location: Gulfton Area of Houston, TX

You will manage community health events, collect data, oversee health education programs, and collaborate with multiple partners. Additionally, you will supervise staff, coordinate with contract workers, and maintain records in Salesforce. You will work in a non-traditional, diverse work environment.

You Will:

  • Participate in outreach activities, engagement, training, navigation, and referrals to engage with underserved populations.
  • Collect, complete, and input accurate data related to the outreach activities.
  • Manage community health events, administer surveys, hold networking meetings, offer group support sessions, and provide one-on-one help to understand social determinants of health and build awareness of health equity issues among racial and ethnic minority populations.
  • Provide screening questionnaires to determine the resources needed by the family.
  • Ensure constituents receive appropriate information about COVID-19, public health care issues, pandemics, and other community issues.
  • Manage Project Facilitators and Community Outreach Coordinator This includes interviewing, conducting performance evaluations, hiring, and terminating.
  • Be the primary contact for the Health Department and contract workers, including sewing instructors, music teachers, theater teachers, and artists.
  • Work with the Houston Independent School District, our art program partners, and school programs.
  • Meet with community partners to facilitate the mural program.
  • Present at conferences to advocate for CHAT programming.
  • Ensure that health education and prevention programs are culturally competent and tailored to the community’s needs.
  • Oversee the implementation of programs, monitoring processes, and making adjustments.
  • Help plan special events.
Requirements

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Master’s preferred.
  • Licensure as a Certified Community Health Worker.
  • 3+ years of community work experience.
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster doses recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to achieve identified outcomes.
  • Bilingual in Spanish or another language.
  • Work with a diverse population.

Working Conditions: Your work is done in the community and requires walking, bending, standing, and lifting. You may work in harsh weather conditions, such as extreme heat or cold. Some work is sedentary, such as sitting at a desk, using a computer, phone, and other office equipment. You will travel to deliver CHAT programming or attend conferences and convenings relevant to the field. You will work some weekends. This is an in-person position.

Starting Salary: $62,093 – $65,000 per year

M-AAA has limited public hours only for visitors attending an exhibition installed in our space. Regarding employment, please arrange a visit in advance.
