OFFICIAL: Real Madrid lead clubs with highest revenue, Barcelona and United behind

Real Madrid released an official statement to announce that they lead the ranking of clubs with highest revenue for the eleventh consecutive time. Read Real's official statement below:

Real Madrid's revenue totalled 577 million euros, 28 million more than last year, and they lead the rankings for the football clubs with the highest revenue in the world for the eleventh consecutive year, according to the 19th edition of the report Football Money League, published by the consulting firm Deloitte following analysis of financial data corresponding to the 2014/15 season.

According to Dan Jones, executive director of Deloitte's Sports Business Group, "Real Madrid had a strong financial performance, boosted by the growth of their business income". Business income totalled 247.3 million euros, which amounts to a 10% increase in relation to the previous season, thanks to their multiple business agreements. In terms of games, Real Madrid's earnings totalled 129.8 million euros, 8% more than the previous season, thanks to a rise in attendance at games and an increase in revenue from the VIP Area.

As for television broadcasts and the UEFA Champions League, the club received 199.9 million euros, 2% less than the previous season, when these earnings increased due to the club winning their tenth European Cup.

Deloitte state that the 20 European clubs with the highest revenues have earnings totalling more than 6.6 billion euros, an 8% increase on the previous year. This group includes sides from the five countries with the most powerful leagues in Europe. England is the country with most representatives (9), followed by Italy (4), Germany (3), Spain (3) and France (1).
