Bruno Fernandes has sent Mason Mount a supportive message on social media in response to the Manchester United player's latest injury setback.

United confirmed on Friday that Mount would miss the festive fixtures after sustaining an injury during the Manchester derby. Ruben Amorim said in his pre-match press conference before the Bournemouth match that the midfielder would be on the sidelines for several weeks.

The player then shared his "devastation" about the situation on social media. Several teammates liked the post - including Amad, Christian Eriksen, Daniel Gore, Diogo Dalot, Ethan Wheatley, Harry Amass, Harry Maguire, Joshua Zirkzee, Kobbie Mainoo, Leny Yoro, Lisandro Martinez, Manuel Ugarte, Matthijs de Ligt and Toby Collyer.

"Words can't portray how devastated I'm feeling right now," the caption reads, "you could probably see the look on my face when it happened. I knew what it meant.

"United fans, you may not know me too well yet, but one thing I can guarantee, I will never give up or lose faith. I've said this before, but I will continue to give everything, get through this tough period and won't stop until that's achieved."

Mount turned comments off on the post, but Fernandes shared it on his Instagram Story to send the midfielder a public message on social media. "Always with you," the text underneath the shared post reads, punctuated by a red heart emoji.

"We will be by your side in every moment (flexed bicep emoji). We fall together, we rise together!"

Hours later, Zirkzee also made a similar move, sharing the post and adding a red heart and a folded hands emoji with the words "Back soon, my bro!" Amorim has also acknowledged that the club are "going to help" Mount "until the end" as long as the player tries really hard while out injured.
