HQ Company First Sergeant
First Sergeant Grant J. Moran

First Sergeant Moran was born in Winter Park, FL and raised in Casselberry, FL. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in September 2003. After graduating from MCRD Parris Island, SC, he completed Marine Combat Training (MCT) and attended Avionics Technician Intermediate Level Training at Marine Aviation Training Support Group-21, Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, FL.  Upon completion, he was promoted to Lance Corporal and then attended follow-on training at NAS Whidbey Island, WA, and earned the Military Occupational Specialty 6484, Radar Communication Test Station Technician.
 
In April 2005, he reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS) 14, Cherry Point, NC.  In May 2006, Lance Corporal Moran was promoted to Corporal and in the fall received orders to MALS-12, Iwakuni, Japan, and reported for duty in October 2006.  Upon arriving at MALS-12, Corporal Moran earned his Collateral Duty Inspector qualification and served as Work Center NCOIC of Work Center 64B.  Corporal Moran was promoted to Sergeant in May 2008, and in September 2008, received orders to MALS-14, Cherry Point, NC, where he served as the Work Center Assistant NCOIC.  In July 2009, Sergeant Moran transferred to VMAQ-3, deploying as an Intermediate Maintenance liaison to Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Following the deployment he returned to MALS-14 and received orders to Drill Instructor School, Parris Island, SC.
 
Sergeant Moran reported to Drill Instructor School July 2012, and was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in August 2012.  Upon graduating he was assigned to 1st Recruit Training Battalion where he served as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, Chief Drill Instructor, and SNCOIC of the Martial Arts Section.  Upon completion of his tour, Staff Sergeant Moran was transferred to MALS-31, Beaufort, SC, in November 2015 and served as the Work Center 650 SNCOIC and earned his Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative qualification.  
 
In June 2016, Staff Sergeant Moran transferred to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 115 (VMFA-115) in support of the unit deployment program and served as the detachment SNCOIC.  Upon return, he transferred to MALS-31 where he served as the Squadron Gunnery Sergeant.  
 
In December 2017 Staff Sergeant Moran reported to MALS-13, Yuma, AZ, to serve as the Assistant SNCOIC of Work Center 650.  He was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in July 2018 and assumed the billet of the Avionics Department Gunnery Sergeant. Gunnery Sergeant Moran also assumed the billets and duties of Security Manager and Anti-Terrorism Officer (ATO) for MALS-13.
 
In July 2020 Gunnery Sergeant Moran reported to Officer Candidate School, Quantico, VA and served as a Physical Training Instructor, Sergeant Instructor, Platoon Sergeant, and Company Gunnery Sergeant. Gunnery Sergeant Moran was frocked to the rank of First Sergeant May 2022 and assumed the duties of Company First Sergeant, Company D.
 
First Sergeant Moran currently serves as the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Central Command Headquarters Company First Sergeant.
 
First Sergeant Moran's personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars.
