The Long Beach Bearcats were the 43-42 winner over the Greene County Wildcats when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. 2024 welcomed Long Beach with a 65-45 loss courtesy of Greene County on Thursday. Long Beach has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Yabarrai Bolton was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds for Greene County. The match was Bolton's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Jase Matthews was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Long Beach's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Greene County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Long Beach will be playing at home against Hancock at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greene County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bay at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th.
