Manual:Wiki family - installing a wiki farm

What does "you can use "listen" on the multiple server names. " mean exactly?

QUOTE: Enable your web server to share your MediaWiki install with all wikis.

For multiple (sub)domains, you can use "listen" on the multiple server names.

For multiple subdirectories, you could use: rewrite rules, aliases, or symlinks.

https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Wiki_family#Wiki_Farm Thanks in advance.

Bawolff hi again bawoff thanks for response.
It sounds like they are talking about virtual hosts (some web servers use a config directive named listen for that), but i agree its terribly phrased.
no idea; listen may refer to TCP listen.
  1. LISTEN server TCP/IP call :::This LISTEN call tells the TCP⁄IP address space that the server is ready to begin accepting connections.

Perhaps the term 'sledovat' could be used in Czech. The original wording of the sentence is rather strange-

Hi. If you do not use <tvar>...</tvar> tags at all, please do not add <translate>...</translate> tags.

ENeRZet (talkcontribs)

Hello. I do not understand. How else should I mark the text intended for translation? For now, I don't want to deal with translations of the entire page, but only to complete the marking of the text on a page that has already been marked for translation and only some text was not marked by mistake. Thank you

Shirayuki (talkcontribs)

Please do not add translate tags. It creates extra work to add tvar tags.

See 6129921.

When adding <translate>...</translate> tags, clearly distinguish between inline elements and block elements. Items with a newline character immediately after the <translate> tag or separated by a blank line from the preceding translation unit are considered block elements. Items where <translate>...</translate> fits within a single line are considered inline elements.

When multiple sentences are all within the same paragraph, make each sentence an inline element and ensure that the first sentence doesn't become a block element.

Correct:

<translate>
== block element ==
</translate>
<translate>inline element1</translate>
<translate>inline element2</translate>
<translate>inline element3</translate>

Incorrect:

<translate>
== block element ==

block element1</translate>
<translate>inline element2</translate>
<translate>inline element3</translate>

Díky za překlad manuálu Manual:Extension_registration/cs do češtiny, protože ukázal, že v originální anglické verzi chybí označkovat některé kusy textu k překladu.

Já děkuji za reakci.

Hi. Stop creating empty categories by inserting translations.

ENeRZet (talkcontribs)

Please tell me how I know from https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:LanguageStats which category is not empty? Second question: Why are they listed on this page as for translation? Thank you.

Shirayuki (talkcontribs)

Open the category page and append your language code (/cs) to the address bar.

ENeRZet (talkcontribs)

So I've tried it many times and in neither case is it clear to me how I know from what to see if this category ready for translation is not a blank page.

Translate or not translate empty categories?
