I give this formula a thumbs up for its self setting properties. I have a very dry under eye area where most opaque concealers emphasize fine lines, but I find it blends beautifully and melts into the skin so does not look cakey. Skin does needs a nice prep with a hydrating or a creamy base for a flawless application. I also found using finger tips would be the best tool to set this concealer rather than brushes, but beauty blender works great too. It have stayed input on my under eye area in couple of occasions that I attended in past couple of weeks and it doesn’t budge.
The Ultra HD Self-Setting Concealer comes in a flexible sponge tip applicator, I don’t recall on using any of the Make Up For Ever’s concealer before but the flexible sponge tip applicator is trending and this is probably a very practical packaging when it comes to concealer. I have always been impressed with the color range from the brand where they cover all different under tones. For me both yellow and pink under tone works great depending on what look I go for, usually I use yellow under tone to brighten up my under eye area and conceal spots with pink under tone.Bottom line its a hit for me. It’s just a perfect concealer with a perfect amount of coverage for my daily use. It sets beautifully with no cakey and thick look, it is very easy to blend out with your finger tips for a more natural look. I love this concealer for the fact that is easy to layer without it getting cakey looking. The lasting power is amazing even without setting it with powder. Ease of application and streamlined packaging is a plus. I usually go one shade lighter with my concealer I found the shade 12 was too light for my skin tone and I may need to go one or two shades darker. With this formula I like that there is little to no oxidizing in color on me.
You can find the Ultra HD Self-Setting Concealer in store and online at Sephora.
