There's a new woman in town - and she doesn't play nice.

Coronation Street fans are going to be seeing a new character tottering down the cobbles, as Kerry Bennett - whose face you may recognise from Hollyoaks - joins the cast as a gangster's moll.

In these spoiler pictures from the Corrie set, Kerry's character brokers a drug deal between her husband and Adam Barlow, but suffers the consequences when her nasty dealer husband accuses her of flirting.

After Adam - played by Sam Robertson - drives off with his ill-gotten money, the dealer grabs his wife by her face and warns her about too much flirtatious contact with Adam.

It's not the first time Kerry's been spotted filming for Corrie, having just finished with Hollyoaks after her character Eva got shot dead on a train.

However, a Coronation Street spokesperson has confirmed that while Kerry will be in the soap, she's not expected to appear for more than "a couple of episodes".

It comes as the soap sees one of viewers' favourite couples struggle to cope in the aftermath of their awful miscarriage.

Michelle Connor and Steve McDonald have weathered many storms, from illicit affairs to bouts of crippling depression, but the latest heartbreak will prove too much for the Coronation Street couple.

The secret is out when Michelle discovers that Steve is the daddy of Leanne Battersby’s baby and she files for divorce.

The Rovers Return is at the centre of the war between the couple when Michelle gets legal involved to seize the pub, while Peter Barlow circles like a vulture to also get his hands on the boozer.

“Michelle finally discovers the extent of Steve’s betrayal and, as expected, she doesn’t deal with it lightly,” a Corrie insider told The Sun.

“She goes totally berserk and declares war on Steve. She brings in the lawyers and tells the love rat she’s going to divorce him.”

Michelle is determined to talk half of everything the couple owned and that includes the beloved pub.
