Update: Jackson High lockdown threat traced to social media post from Florida, officials say

JACKSON, MI – Jackson High School has been put in lockdown after receiving a threat on social media Thursday morning.

School administrators were made aware of a threat posted on social media on Oct. 28, and put the high school into “secure mode” as a safety precaution, according to a notice from Jackson Public Schools Assistant Superintendent Kriss Giannetti.

While the school is in secure mode, no one is allowed to enter or leave the building until the lockdown has been lifted.

Investigators from the Jackson Police Department were at the scene investigating the threat Thursday morning, officials said.

Jackson police could not immediately be reached for additional information.
